"This is a club who spent a large part of their history in the 3rd and 4th tier until 2015 when the unthinkable happened and they were promoted to the premier league" They forgot the unthinkable happened and they were bankrolled by a russian billionaire. But that doesnt sound as good.
Hope they win, great free kick and decent folk in crowd, not seen any abusing of forest players in close ups like you see at lots of grounds, especially Leeds Man City other day
Nauseating. Anyone would’ve made the Prem with the money they’ve had thrown at them. Could’ve been Crewe Alex if they’d been as lucky. It’s no fairytale at all.
I would rather forest had won and thats saying something. Plastic club plastic fans people talk about cheating but billing and solanke cost around 35 million. Theyve been bankrolled to the premier league.
Your probably right, thought we was going to be when these owners took over, but we got plastic millionaires
Too right mate. Our owners have spent nothing and we're on the way to non-league oblivion. Thank the Lord!
Madness. There's a small part of me that would happily keep Barnsley in L1, just to steer clear of this type of farce.
I’m sure you’d much rather have some Russian billionaire bankrolling us for a few years of success. Then what?
To be absolutely fair about it, how much would we have had to spend to retain (and pay) Mowatt and Ismael, or to exercise our option and cut a deal with Darryl Dike? Would it even have been as much as £7-8M? And we'd still have been a Championship club. And saved ourselves £7-8M! I have never advocated that huge sums should be thrown at our (or any) club. But I do think some investment is required, which cleverly-managed would probably repay itself. But no, we haven't had "dirty money" - or any other kind - thrown at BFC. That's why our fans were happier at a sparsely-populated Oakwell on Saturday having been thumped by a very ordinary Preston side on our way to the Third Tier than those poor deluded souls on the south coast who were misguidedly celebrating a second promotion to the Premier League in seven years.
