I agree. He isn't a Billy Big Boll ax either. He'd probably be able to do a similar job to what Paul Warne has done at Rotherham. Could see us yoyoing under him until he eventually got it right. Hasn't got massive stock so wouldn't be able to barter with the owners.

I think anybody that we get, with any EFL experience will be a pretty underwhelming appointment. The likes of Warne, Ainsworth etc... aren't going to go anywhere near the job. I don't know enough anout Hasselbaink to really have an opinion, how he sets teams up, how his teams have performed in relation to their budget etc... So don't really have an opinion on him.

Personally, I think Khaled should be using his links with City group, to see if there's any highly rated academy coaches there, that set teams out with an identity that comes close to matching what we want to do.

Disagree.. I feel we need a coach that knows and has first hand experience of the lower leagues. We will need experienced free transfers and loans just to stop the rot, never mind coming back up. Last thing we need next season is another "school teacher".

I'd say a school teacher is exactly what we need. Just that last season, we had one that was strict and the schoolkids were scared of. It was the supply teachers we had this season that were the problem.

After doing a bit of reading up on JFH I think we could do a lot worse. He would get my backing.

When you consider coaches last much less than a season on average at Oakwell it hardly seems to matter who is in the dug out. Or at least if you don't like the next appointment just hang around a few months for the one after.

His worst two season when in charge, his win rate was still 29% and 30%. That would have been 15 wins over a full season. Which = 45points, plus a handful of draws would have kept us up this season. Puts the six wins this seasons two clowns have won into perspective.
Like I said those are his two worst season.. If we can get him, id say its a no brainer

Well put it this way, just before we approached Poya, given the choice between Poya & JFH who would the majority have gone with?

Of the current League One possibles being mentioned, I would go for one of Ainsworth, Duff, JFH, or Appleton. Any might do a reasonable job and know the league. Appleton might bring us in Scully from Lincoln and there are a couple of other good 'uns there. He also seems to have good contacts with premiership and championship clubs regarding loanees and permanents. Ainsworth would be fiesty - probably too much so for this board, but a good choice if we are serious about getting promoted. Duff looks like a really good coach in the making. Strong point that he was being seriously touted for the Burnley job and has done well bringing on a balance of youth and experience at Cheltenham, again with a mixture of experience and loanees. Might get Boyle if he comes. JFH is a bit dodgy for me, as i don't think that he has proved successful enough yet in management. I like the guy, though, and would take him if it comes to that. If any one of those four were our ultimate choice, I would be reasonably happy, depending on how the recruitment goes in the close season.

Given the pickle we're in, I'd be tempted to appoint someone where we wouldn't have to pay compensation. There must be dozens of out of work coaches/managers who would still be a vast improvement on the horror shows we've endured this season.
