I've never seen that before. Was there as a 5-6 year old. Thanks for posting that. Excellent.

Excellent. Bog rolls thrown from the terraces, they're too expensive to be doing that these days.

Thanks again, sir, for providing a happy reminder why I love our club so much and detest the current owners.

Great post. Never thought I'd see pictures of that night again. Brilliant.

I was 11 at the time and there with my late dad one of my memories of being with him like so many more that revolve around the football club we both love / loved with a passion and why the current circumstances around the club cause so much pain and upset. If only the current owners felt the same or even understood the feelings.

"When you've got good players, it makes the manager's job just a little bit easier."

As true now as it was then. Owners take note.

Like you'd just found a time machine and programmed it to take you back to when you were 19, your football club was on the up after so many years in the wilderness and you could feel the shivers going up and down your spine as you thrilled at the sight of 21000 fans in an Oakwell you'd grown up to generally seeing host 5000 or often less.
An unforgettable night. That prod for the winner by Derek Bell I've got in a photo from the Chronicle at the time but to see it on film....fantastic.

I stood on the Kop for that one. Queues were huge for all other areas of the ground so me and me dad stood on there.

    43 years ago. A lifetime.

Aged 15 and the most exciting times I think I’ve witnessed at Oakwell including the promotion to the Premiership

There were some great moments that season. I remember coming back from Uni to see Derek Bell's home debut against Wimbledon who, I think, were top. I think he got two that day but I still have a three or four second memory reel in my head of him running towards us in the Ponty with the ball at his feet and smashing it into the roof of the net.
    :)

Nope, you're bang on with that memory, old mate. BTW Glyn Riley got the other goal.

Stood in Brewery Stand that night as a 14 year old. Fantastic time but seems a lifetime ago.

There was a huge groundswell of belief that season. I'd never witnessed anything like it. We were so lucky to be around to see it.
Ive got so many memories of that season. Mind you that was back when my brain was fully functioning. :)
