Exactly this. We should embrace this announcement and enjoy it for what it means for our football club. The follow up questions and info can come at a later date.
Who are the investors? Lee, Conman etc have left the board but no mention of them leaving the club. We know nothing of Julie Anne Quay to know if she will be good or bad for our club so let's not get excited yet. Good to hear from Jean though. We don't hear from the Cryne family often enough when they are the people at the club who when a club spokesperson talks is easiest for us to relate to.
It's not a repayment of the £750k, but it's a significant enough development for me to seriously think about renewing my ST before 16th May. It's a pity that we won't get full details before then, but it's way beyond what I expected to happen.
Feels like, after stumbling about in the dark for three years regarding knowing what's going on in terms of the ownership, I've finally found the exit and walked into a different room. The new room is just as dark and someone has put a sack over my head.
This sounds far too American to me from Julie Anne Quay: "Let’s play to win. Come on, you Reds" I can see her throwing the first pitch before our opening game. I'm done already.* * for the avoidance of this is said in jest
The club is owned by the investment vehicle in HK. It seems the majority of that was funded by unknown investors/funds, which may or may not include Lee, Conway et al. It would seem that there were conditions of their investment, or given the relegation and likely discussion with the Crynes and Parekh, they have exercised an option to seize control of that investment vehicle. Essentially, my expectation is the ability for Lee and Conway to affect BFC is rendered impotent. Hopefully the journo's are drilling a bit deeper and can confirm Conway and Lee are no more, but also start to uncover just who owns our football club.
So does this mean that the new members of the Board were behind the advertising of the two coaching positions earlier this week that, if I've kept myself on track with this never ending soap opera, are positions currently held by Disco and Tom Harban and, if they are, does that mean that they've got Disco and Tom lined up for something more senior in the management set up?
Overall we just need to understand the make up of this still following changes in ownership at its parent company, BFC Investment Company Limited (BFC).
Hopefully because they probably think the statement put out means those who believe not a penny more will rush out now and buy a season ticket, when they won't because it's not clear if they have completely left our club.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Conway's SPAC, if not Lee's, pop up as part of the investment in a Premier League club in the coming year...
Keep expecting Maggie Thatcher to pop and and say her famous line “Just rejoice in that news” Which of course means don’t delve any deeper .
Essentially a big chunk of Paul Conway's shares weren't his own. He was a nominee for them and had a 4 year deal in that respect.
