I was trying to counter the assertion that Conway, Lee etc were still in charge, just less visible. I assume they're still part of the investment group but no longer entrusted with leading roles at the club. At least that's how I interpreted things. I have been offline for a few hours though so maybe that is no longer a valid view.

See this is where I start getting confused again.

Up to today’s announcement, all the protests were specifically against Conway/Lee/PMG/NCC and how they were running the Club (into the ground). There wasn’t any talk of or opposition to ‘investors’. The campaign was ‘Conway Out’, not ‘spurious international investors out’.

Now all of a sudden, some of the language seems to have changed, and people are talking about these ‘investors’ being the problem. So it wasn’t Conway you wanted out after all then?

People wanted Conway/Lee out. To all intents and purposes, in terms of running Barnsley Football Club, that’s we’ve got today.

If people are now shifting the criticism elsewhere, fair dos, but let’s be clear. Conway is out.

I'd have loved to be in attendance when that vote took place.

Can just imagine Conway spitting his dummy out in rage

Wouldn’t have thought he’d care, he’s had his money out the deal and has new toys to play with

I do agree with that actually. Was always my view that he had zero attachment to us. Actually that was kinda the problem. Now he has no influence on strategic direction, I’m hoping he sells any shares he has and fks off.

i think certain people wanted to isolate Conway as sone sort of bogeyman but I think most people were critical of the investment vehicle. If as is suggested they can now be outvoted then I’m pretty content about that. If they were still majority shareholders then I’d remain concerned. Devils in the detail as ever.

I'll probably get shot down for this, and this definitely isn't the case for everyone, but I think it proves two possible things with some people.
    1. They weren't really sure why they wanted Conway out. Otherwise they'd be positive about his removal, appreciate what he no longer has authority on, but still be keen to hear more around the new setup
    2. They hadn't thought about what was next. So now they've got what they want, they still don't like the result. This is why BFCST couldn't just go in heavy handed because a few voices online wanted to light the lanterns and sharpen the pitchforks for a storm of Oakwell

It will take money to improve our situation. is there any more of that?

It will take some measure of control to be relinquished by our CEO too, given that he says he's in control of 99%+ of activities. And hasn't as yet shown any qualities for the job apart from appearing at various events to tell us what he doesn't know.

I can well imagine a heap big pow wow taking place about how season tickets can be sold, and this being the best that they could come up with.

As long as the ownership are opaque, nobody knows what might happen next.

My interest is focused on the pitch. As per.

We need a forward or two of quality. And a team hung (no Grace) with ********.

They have less shares now between them so were unable to stop themselvess from being voted off.

I really hope this is the start of a more progressive era for the Club. There are a lot of really good outstanding questions in this thread and ideally it would be brilliant if they were answered - to the best of the Club’s ability.

I suspect they won’t be so I’ll judge the ‘ ‘new Board’ in the same way I judged the old one - by their actions.

They have a very low bar to get over in that regard, so I wish them well.

In fairness I think it was principally you that thought Conway was the entire issue. Of course as the face of the operation sone fan ire was directed at him but I don’t think many people thought that simply removing him would address our problems. I’m happy that he’s gone as most folks are

Doesn't necessarily mean anyone has, it could be that some of Chien's fellow investors have got tired of the way he and Conway were handling their investment, and have sided with Jean and Neerav, using Quay to represent them.
