Family member worked as an employee until September last year. She would have over paid on tax as has not worked since. When does that rebate come, will HMRC just send it as a? Cheque? Or does she have to apply in some manner? Cheers
Eventually she'll get a letter and have the option of a cheque or getting it paid into her bank account. If she wanst it sooner she needs to contact them.
Set up a Gateway id with the inland revenue and you can fill out details online. Just follow the links (quite easy) as to her circumstances. Did it for the mrs in april. Don't know if it prompted em. But recieved a letter of rebate yesterday. With 2 options. Wait for up to 6 weeks for a cheque or go on gateway and claim. Says up to 5 days to come through to our bank account. Took the latter option.
I submitted my self-assessment two weeks ago. The HMRC website reckons I should hear something within 72 hours (to be fair, that always used to be the case). Not heard from them as yet, and as they do owe me a fair amount of cash I'd like them to get on with it. However, the internet is awash at the moment with people complaining about delays getting tax rebates. But Johnson's got it in hand with his plan to sack 90K civil servants. That should do it . After Brexit I used to tell people that this country would resemble a banana republic within 10 years. I was spectacularly optimistic.
Put 90k on the dole to help with the cost of living. Sure that'll help those who lose their jobs. Warra lovely person.
Something tells me DePfeffels personal photographers (yes, plural) won't be included in the 90,000 sacked people. And on that. How disgusting that he's briefed the Daily Heil in this way. The levels he'll go to protect his own skin is sickening.
Were you optimistic on the timescale to become a banana republic, or optimistic that we would still be as highly regarded as a banana republic?
