A pretty good 1st media announcement even though many were just sound bites I applaud all of it. Very good idea to extend the early bird . We can now make judgements on their decisions and planning before investing our hard earned coin.

    Just read my e-mail.

I think that may be the best and most sincere message someone from the club have put out in 4.5 years at least. Fair play Parekh.

You have my patience til I can judge said actions.

    Just seen the email now.

Was a good little read. I’d already renewed my season ticket a few weeks ago but if I’d not have done, this letter would’ve tempted me to definitely.

It’s been a better few days for the reds.

Well done Mr Parekh, a very good first communication that finds just the right tone imo. Also an excellent decision to extend the EB. Prior to Thursday my decision was made, I wasn't renewing. It's now a real possibility, I'm listening again. A good managerial appointment (not another big gamble on someone from the continent who won't be here in 12 months) and then some clarity about positive changes to come on the 27th would likely be enough.

It's a significant step forward when something that I think the club should do turns out to be something that the club actually does do.

Deadline extended, and appropriate time to consider things properly over the next few weeks. Absolutely spot on from our new Chairman.

I agree. I've welled up reading that. It's about time we had some good news. The vibes are excellent.

That’s absolutely where I’m at; other than I’m not overly concerned about it being someone from the continent. I’ll listen to the announcement on the 27th and take it from there. My only issue is I’ve already taken out a season ticket with another Club!

Put a request in to the FA for the home games to alternate!

My issue with managers from the continent is that they're very unlikely to stay with us for very long. Unless they had studied English football, I'd bet that all of our recent appointments had never heard of us before we approached them. I think a couple of them actually said as much. Whilst we might not like to admit it, we're a small, provincial club. I believe that the reason they come to us is because we're a route into English football and a stepping stone to something bigger and that's the reason Struber and Ismael moved on at the first opportunity. If they fail we get rid quickly, if they succeed they quickly move to something bigger. We need some continuity imo and are more likely to get it if someone is in the UK. Yes, we're a selling club and if they succeed they'll still move to something bigger but it's less likely that's why they come to us in the first place.

Re Daniel, it was great whilst he was here but isn't the fact that he was apparently looking for other opportunities an indication that he wasn't fully committed? Of course it could be argued that he was looking because of the departed charlatans strategy but my view is that even if that wasn't the case, had we started the season well and there'd been an approach, he'd have been off at the first opportunity.

They wouldn’t take any notice, nor would the Irish IRFU. The Club is Leinster! Just got back from a cracking Champions Cup Semi final at the Aviva. Now a night round Dublin.

Did it feel like you were cheating on your partner when you bought it? Are you willing to to say which club and why they attracted you?

''My issue with managers from the continent is that they're very unlikely to stay with us for very long''

That doesn't just apply to overseas managers Wolves tyke. At the start of the 2010's we had about 5 managers in 6 years or something. All British.

That's why it's important that the club have a long term strategy and buy into that at every opportunity. Coaches last on avg about 14 months.

Bit of a way from the Dales to Ireland! I'd stick with Barnsley!

Not saying it definitely won't be but Daniel is still currently employed by Lee and Conway's AS Nancy on E20k a month (they couldn't afford to pay him off in one go) and so it seems highly unlikely (although any conversation between Jean and Conway to negotiate his transfer might be worth filming :D)
