Let them off the hook after those early wickets.

Must be a record at the mo. All 1st innings (x4) in the 1st division 500+ and counting in 2. Other 2 of em declared. At nearly 600.

Winning the toss and fielding first maybe not the best call.

Ground staff have been moaned at for years for producing poor batting tracks and now they will get moaned at for going too far the other way and not producing enough for the bowlers. The century count this season is the highest it has been at this stage of a season for many a year.

At 566-9 declared, Yorkshire have kept Lancashire to the lowest of the four first innings scores o_O

Surrey 671-9 declared might be some kind of record as there wasn't one century in it!

Apparently it is - they've made the highest score without a batter reaching a century - surpassing the 609 made by Namibia against Uganda in 2010.

Do we reckon lyth ought to call it a day. Or he certainly needs a spell with the second team to try get back some form. And I'm saying that as a (normally) big fan of his. But he's underperformed for a while now. Especially in last years T20.

Yes, he's coming to the end of his tether now for mine. Averaging 19 I think this season despite playing on 5 terrific batting wickets so far. If he played for another county I think he'd be gone now - it's just that Yorkshire lose so many players to England and T20s around the world etc. It's a shame TKC is injured or he could have been opening with Hill.

His situation is probably helped by having Cadmore out with concussion, Balance with mental health and Bairstow/Willey in the IPL. If those four are back soon then Lyth will surely be a fall guy? Will Fraine should get more chances. In his last four matches he's got scores in different games of 122 not out, 85 and 88. Granted his hundred was against a university team and his eighties playing in Zimbabwe but he's in form and at 25 he needs first team chances or get shut.

He needs to concentrate on the T20s. Seems to have lost it in the red ball game

You didn't see his record for last season in the T20 I assume.

    Agree.
Got to be someone in the second team worth a try surely.
Hope it's not a clique. I read Dickie Birds biography. (a brilliant read btw, funny, sad and enlightening ) How he was treat by Yorkshire was a disgrace. Surprised he stayed loyal to em.

Clutching at straws! Not based on any logic but he’s clearly well out of form. Maybe it will come back?

As I said in a previous post mate. (I'm a fan) He needs to go into the seconds to try getting back to his best.

Hopefully. And I think they will. The rest will hold out for the draw.
