He's said big Val in the link to another thread above, so you were right on the money (unsurprisingly).
I'd be up for this. His Cheltenham team have improved year on year, and he'd have been working with a tight budget. There's an absolute chasm between the top 11 and the rest of league 1 at the moment, and he had Cheltenham well clear of relegation and in their highest ever league position. Seems a very logical choice.
Their highest ever league position, with probably a mid table league 2 budget, and an average crowd of just over 4,000. Just to add a bit of context.
I was wondering whether the club would consider him,a very positive choice. However I'm not sure he fits the clubs vision of using and developing young young inexperienced players, unless this is going to change. He would prefer to have experienced players and would set the team up very well, he likes strong centre halves, which are needed against some opponents. It's nice to see a lot of positivism on this thread toward him and that the club have considered him.
I would sooner have someone like Duff with experience as a player and manager in the English league than someone from abroad.
My preference would undoubtedly be Warnock. But as he's announced his retirement it may not be achievable. You never know mind. However, should that be 100% the case, I have zero problem with appointing Duff. And would happily throw my weight behind him
Warnock has retired and there's absolutely no chance Ainsworth would leave Wycombe to join us right now Had to Google who the Plymouth manager is but he's only been there since December and has never managed before that. Strange choice
