    I wonder what the hold up is?

    They said this week so I’m guessing tomorrow. Maybe trying to get a manager sorted first though?

    it would make sense to check fire on releasing/offering contracts until the new manager and backroom staff are in

    I don't understand the hold up because those out of contract it should be pretty straight forward that all of them should be released.

    The lists have to be submitted to the EFL by Saturday apparently. That is what some reliable journo on twitter has said anyway.

    I said over a week ago that i believe the list was already set. It extremely unusual to have been relegated a week or two before season ends and the club to still not have it in place at this point. The players will have been consulted individually before they went off for the summer break and to engage with their agents. Its unclear therefore why they delay the announcement, unless they are awaiting some players feedback etc. However having said all this i am expecting a big clear out and then we can only hope its the start of another rebuild.

    I agree. Devaney's team selections fueled speculation further. There were fit players that sat out games that would have started if they were going to be here next season.

    But what does that have to do with the retained list? The likes of Helik, Morris etc are under contract, and don’t need to be mentioned with the retained list even though they’re likely to be sold. It’s just strange that there’s still no news on Halme, Adeboyejo and Palmer.

    Retained lists need to be submitted by May 21st. Clubs involved in the play-offs get an extension.

    If info can be teased to the journalists, I'm not sure why it hasn't been released officially to the fans. We're not going to have a new manager/coach in place to give any input before the deadline expires, we've had a month since we were officially relegated and provided the certainty of which division we'd be in next season and the players must have had dialogue as to whether they are being retained, offered a contract or being made available for transfer.
