Evening all. Biting the bullet and getting tickets for the 1st time since 2018. Myself and eldest son are members, but wanting to get one for my youngest for a tenner. Won't let me purchase as I need to assign a member to his card, anyone know how to do this or is it a trip to the box office TIA
https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/22946/who-is-in-charge-at-oakwell-after-boardroom-shake-up Over 6,000 season tickets sold already. Hope we can get a few thousand more or Oakwell is going to look empty.
Yeah, important to get a good start to try and win the ‘lost’ supporters back and get an early feel good factor
Wasn't it over 10,000 the last time we were at this level? We won't reach anywhere near that next season without a brilliant summer.
6,000 is about normal for us in League 1. I remember comments by a CEO a few years ago saying the club could operate with 7,000 season ticket holders. We're not far off that now. I suspect it will be nearer 10,000 with a decent summer and Head Coach fans can get behind.
That's about right. It was last season I attended regularly. I'd say with 1,500 away fans and some paying on the day it would take crowds up to around 9 to 10,0000 which is normal.
Average attendances over the last 20 years in League 1/3rd tier. Obviously includes pay on day and away fans and unsure what the ST chunk of those numbers would be, but with the exception of 18/19, numbers are pretty consistent 18/19 - 12527 15/16 - 9499 14/15 - 9768 05/06 - 9045 04/05 - 9779 03/04 - 9620 02/03 - 9758
Be good to think with POTD we can get 10,000 home fans in to Oakwell for every league game. All depends on what the board members say in the coming weeks, the signings we make and how we start the season.
I’m half awake, but wasn’t the crowd for that first game against Oxford under Stendel around the 12,500 mark?
One of the best games in recent years too. Really set the tone for the season. It would be nice to start similarly this season. I don't think we really recovered from the loss at home to Crawley in 2014. The season just seemed a damp squib even though that defeat apart it wasn't a bad opening five games.
Think oxford brought 1500 ish that day. Another 1st day was crawley at home back in league one we had over 10k home fans think it was close to 11k home fans if i remeber right crawley brought about 200. The less said abouy that game the better.
Yeah i thought the home game was bad but when we played them away jesus... think they were relegated that season too.
That Crawley away performance is the worst I’ve ever watched. I lost my rag with the players and their crap attitude that day.
Actually I/we went for the weekend and went to the game with my bro in law. (A wendy) The first half was unbelievable as to how we weren't winning by a couple at least. The second half a different story. Cackest performance ever. Bro in law agreed on both counts.
