Depends if we are shopping in Aldi or Waitrose . Think Vic would be good cover / back up in division one

Palmer showed he can be an effective team member under Val. Vic tries his best but it isn’t good enough.

Aldi or Waitrose? Think more likely the food bank unless the revised board comes up with some finance

Vic has a better goalscoring rate last season in the championship than mcburnie and played fewer games. I do agree though he isnt really good enough could be good back up he tries which is more than some.

Halme has the pace of a snail and doesnt read the game very well to compensate for his lack of pace. He is also made of biscuit.

I suppose if we don’t offer a contract equal to what they had before we can’t claim compensation if they leave on a free, right?

Surely it's to ensure we get compo for them if they don't sign and go somewhere else for free?

Victor is 24 and Palmer 23. Not sure what age compensation ceases, I had a feeling 23, but not sure if its changed.

Offer a contract, they accept it and you're potentially stuck with them. Not the game I'd be playing when we have to make up such a massive deficit.

I wasn’t questioning Halme being let go, I agree he’s too injury prone. I was questioning offering Vic a new deal….and we have done.

We've wasted so much money on poor signings, we are now renewing/keeping hold of underperforming players. I can't see the logic.

Retained list comes out and already off to a bad start. This shows a serious lack of ambition and a total waste of wages and a shirt.

The half time draw man will score more than victor. Nice bloke runs around a bit and is built like a light heavyweight but is useless in front of goal. Three years of wages they have wasted on him.

Palmer has the heart of a pea and we need to get rid of him

Jesus does that mean we won’t be signing many players this summer rewarding players for failure.

But why offer a contract to someone who you want to get rid of? Surely we can't be offering more than last season given they were playing in the championship?

For the fee at a tribunal? I dont think vic is good enough but he has a better goalscoring record last season than 20million pound mcburnie so if his agent already has a club lined up we would be due something. Thats the only reason i can think of thats why we did it when hecky deemed george williams not needed.
