    Don't hold your breath. My mother in law refused to even look at one of our old tenners because it had Darwin on it. The Enlightenment missed that part of the world. My other half plans to renounce her US citizenship as soon as she gets her British sorted.

    Will never happen. That country is seriously messed up. It isn't really a country TBH. Half of it is the wild west & half is really progressive in some ways, but not in terms of it's foreign policy. All of that is ****** TBH.

    With hindsight, the raft of legislation passed after Dunblane has probably saved us from so much tragedy. I doubt those laws would have such an easy ride today.

    And Ted Cruz comes straight out and argues against gun control.

    I feel like for a hundred years there will be endless studying on the Republican/Tory parties of 2010-2030, and how such awfulness gained such prominence.

    Complete avarice and ambition on the part of the politicians and pure ignorance or self interest on that of the people who vote for them.
    The world's education systems are churning out huge percentages of populations that are, frankly, stupid.

    I could imagine you're right. I shudder to think how the education system is designed in some American states.

    And while we're at it...if I could, right now, I'd get hold of Alex Jones, Ted Cruz, Wayne LaPierre etc, frog march them to Texas, put them on their hands and knees and rub their noses in every single pool of blood lying on that school floor.

    I’ve witnessed it. Creationism is science, evolution is blasphemy, every country that isn’t America, Israel, or South Korea is communist. Genuine text book learning material for a seventh grader in the family.

    Apparently it’s because teachers don’t have guns.

    I’m definitely happy we wrestled ourselves away from Europe to align ourselves closer with fundamental Christian cowboys.

    How could they ever reign that in? Especially in a country where the majority want to keep them in case they have to overthrow their own Government if they need to….

    Fk knows. I guess you could start by looking at countries like Switzerland and Finland, where gun ownership is still relatively high but controls are incredibly tight and the reasons for having guns seem to be very different.

    Unfortunately as long as you’ve got cnts like Ted Cruz in American politics, you’ve got a huge problem on your hands.

    Just looked up NFA annual conference and National Flute Association came up. They seem like a peaceful bunch to me. Did you mean NRA? I’m guessing it’s because the orange one will be there. Guns are great, everyone should have one. Just not while I’m in the building…kinda thing.

    The problem is that we're talking about two different things. Gun control might cut the number of school shootings but it wouldn't stop criminals getting guns. And there are a lot of criminals and a lot of guns over there. The average citizen would become a sitting duck and crime would go through the roof. It's not solvable because there are aready so many guns in circulation.
