Why? One season we lauded him as a hero, that day at Hudds.. Then it didn't work out longer term. Why is it hilarious in a so unpredictable sport?
He was a good coach but made an absolute shambles of Bury. If I recall he was responsible for encouraging a lot of money to be spent on player travel etc, a lot of the their financial troubles started with him.
I think they we already on their knees when he took over. Seem to remember him saying the same about Barnsley though, it wasn't being run as treating them as pro footballers, all on the cheap and wanted to make things more attractive for players and adding to the motivation to ay for us.
Gave all his buddies who happened to have the same agent bumper contracts after staying up & then they were collectively useless the following season whilst earning a lot more. His treatment of Bobby hassell trying to oust him from the club. His treatment of Luke Steele saying he was too old and then bringing in 13 (I think) year older best friend to try to replace him. Can't remember the other player but his treatment of him too. Referred to the players he treated badly as 'the god squad's and tried to drive them out if the club allegedly
Was the other player Antony Kay? Can't remember it was Flitcroft, but not allowing him a 200th match was really poor.
That was Davey, think the other player he refers to is Fozzy. Basically anyone a fans favourite he didn’t like. Will always have fond memories of the great escape season though!
