It's going to be quiet over the weekend here with the amount of people going down to watch the Giants at Spurs tomorrow and the Terriers at Wembley on Sunday. I am not a big Rugby person but hope the Giants can win the Challenge Cup. Not since the 1952-53 season when they beat St Helens have they won it, which is really poor for the birthplace of the sport. As for the Terriers well it's another Yorkshire team in the top flight rather than Dane Murphy, Taymour Roushdi and whoever else left us for Forest ending up there.
Some great former BFC staff at both clubs. But Taymour is one of my closest friends and so I hope for a Forest win. Rugby League is ****.
Straight after the Sheff Utd game I wanted Forest to lose in the Final. However, I think the Premier League is missing a big name club like Forest.
Be great to see Sedgwick as the senior physio of a Premier League club. Pearson would struggle for regular first team Football but will get a chance I reckon.
A lot of time for Sedg, and for Jordan and Luke who once worked in the sports science department here. I do miss Sedg’s awful banter. As for Matty P - lovely bloke, hard as nails. Completely understood why it didn’t work out for him here but delighted that he’s had success since then.
No it needs another low budget town club up there, especially with Burnley coming down. It makes the top flight more boring if it's full of big budget city clubs. Anyway I knew Huddersfield would have a good season Shrewd British signings based off stats. I remember when we used to do that. https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/tonights-footy.307819/#post-2810170
I look at it more in terms of my Sky subscription. I'd rather tune in to watch Nottingham Forest v Man City than Burnley, Huddersfield or Bournemouth v Man City. I like glamour fixtures even though they turn out to be damp squibs most of the time.
Disagree regarding rugby league, I think it's great . Come on the Giants! I do hope that Forest win the play off final, the arrogance of some town fans round these parts is unreal. They actually think they've won it and it would give me nothing but pleasure to see them crying having lost to a 95th minute Forest goal .
100% you off down? Could get shift off so I’m working until 12 toneet and getting 7:30 train in morning
Funny thing for me though is that both my lads are Hudders Season ticket holders but start their holiday on the Norfolk Broads tomorrow and couldn't have gone to Wembley even if they had a ticket so will have to try and find a riverside pub showing it on telly!
Football can learn so much from Rugby League. Like how to respect the fan base and not take them for granted. Leeds Rhinos were fantastic with my boys when they were younger. Now they are fans, they look out for the Tarn, but Rhinos have their heart. This was down to the Rhinos being arsed, making them feel part of a family and going that extra mile. Things we are struggling with at the moment at BFC.
Because they made them 'feel' special. Hearts and minds. My lads were lucky, they met the invicinbles of Sinfield Burrow, JJB Maguire, Peacock, Ryan Hall, Ryan Bailey etc. They were arsed to spend time with the fans, were accessible and down to earth. And BTW the games they saw at a young age were very entertaining.
