Saw the Stone Roses at the Warehouse in Leeds in 1989. A local band were support that had Choque Hussain in their line up, later of Black Star Liner, (the Hollow Men). He hates me, as his wife used to live in the flat above mine in the 90's & there were a lot of late night parties. He produced some demos for my band that were crap & he hates me, as his wife used to live in the flat above mine & we did have a number of late night parties. The fact it was 25 years ago does not reduce his vitriol. I just find it funny. Hyde Park at the time was party central. Don't live there if you want to have an early night. It is an expensive place to live. You can rent a flat in Roundhay, or Shadwell for similar money.

I think it is a Spanish slang term for people from the Maghreb, I'm not sure it is as offensive as the term you likened it to? May be wrong?

Reading his tweets(using translate) he basically saying similar things about 2 hours wait to get in, locals climbing fences, not enough Police to manage, heavy handed at times, people taking photos of others phones to try to use QR codes for entry.
No mention of tear gas though.
