We were up on the pre-board coup d'etat predictions as well though. I'd need to search my post history to confirm the numbers, but hadn't we hit 5,000 before it?

OK have an opinion all you want on the press conference - but I've seen multiple comments about him wearing a scarf, a club scarf.

Jeeze, it might not be your personal cup of tea but the amount of focus this has drawn is just stupid. Bigger things to focus on.

7000 season tickets will broadly meet the loan instalment due to the EFL. If anyone is in any doubt of the financial hole the club is in just stop for a moment and think about that.

The majority of gate income is already spoken for. Without sales of players there is no cash to meet salaries however big the cuts to the payroll are. The £1m from the owners is an operational necessity.

We are absolutely skint that's a definite . From what I've seen from the new board they don't fill me with optimism hence why I have not renewed . They have to pull something out of the bag regarding the manager for me to reconsider

What's the realistic chance of the EFL enforcing the actual repayment terms and plan on that loan do you think? Given the accounts and money on the balance sheets of so many clubs that would simply not be able to pay it back in the hard and fast facts of a set of accounts?

I always thought their two year payment plan was ambitious personally. We should be setting out to pay it to the agreed terms - I just don't think it will happen and extensions will be agreed across the country (or accounts/finances manipulated). Unless I'm over exaggerating in my mind how many clubs took advantage of the loans offered.

The payments will be deducted from the central distribution amounts. Loans only applied to championship clubs and were capped at £8.3m or roughly 1 years distribution.

First and second division clubs received grants that are not repayable subject to adhering to spending caps.

So the only clubs in trouble are those relegated from the championship. That’ll be us.

Everyone’s entitled to spend their money the way they want but I find this attitude strange.
We are absolutely skint so as a supporter I have withheld further funds leading to us being more skint. Which results in us being more rubbish. Of course you can’t say this without being accused of being a “better supporter” but this attitude doesn’t seem supportive.
Everyone has different financial circumstances and it’s everyone choice how they spend their money but I don’t get the logic.

My 400 quid aint going to help is it?
we are skint because of the owners and the boards own stupidity. They had 11'000 season ticket holders last year and wasted the entire lot. We had cash on the bank now we are in debt. The money they have had to put in is to keep us going in the short term.
I think the owners should be ecstatic that they have fooled so many so far .

Again I don’t understand. First is £400 better for the club in your bank or in the club (for the club)? Well (for the club) the club obviously. Regardless of the insignificance of it, every little helps surely?

Second, you surely support the club, not the owners and so the thing that matters is the club. At the end of the day you’re watching the players in the barnsley shirt not the owners so I still don’t agree but I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

I'm still genuinely not sure where you're coming from tbh. if everyone said 'my 400 quid won't help', we'd be fkd. and by fkd I mean we would cease to exist. so yes, your 400 quid absolutely definitely helps. I also really don't know what else it will take to convince you (or others for that matter) that Conway and Chien lee no longer have any control over the running of Barnsley football club. like others have said, absolutely up to you whether you renew or not. no question about that. but I personally don't think it's reasonable for anybody to expect board/owners to stump up their own cash to keep the Club running, if you won't do the same.

    I'm
Not thinking any to be honest . N
well I have been stumping up the cash for more years than I care to remember . From what I know the owners have put nothing in apart from the 1million the other day . Let's not forget about the missing 750 grand eh!

    All those blue dots.
Let's assume that, come the opening day those are still unsold seats. I think that will be fairly near the case but it's not entirely relevant to my point.
There are loads of blue dots in central areas of our seating that afford a good view of the action.
My experience as a pay on the day attendee over the past 15 years is that I will inevitably be allocated one of the seats in the very top corner of the East Stand upper or at the very front of the Ponty. In fact it made me stop even contemplating going in the Ponty despite the fact that it's cheaper because I hate a pitch level view. Most people do.
My point is why cant the tickets in central areas be sold first to pay on the day customers thus making their matchday experience better. I've always seen empty seats in better areas available during games while I've been stuck in the top corner getting neck ache.
Maybe I should write to Khaled.

So about £200k each then. That’s already probably more than how much I’ve spent in my 30+ years.

Re. The 750k, I agree, very unfortunate, should have never happened. But it has, and it’s now pretty clear that all parties agreed to where the money could come from. So I think the others, including the Cryne family, need to hold their hands up on that as well.

You’re not punishing Conway and chien lee anymore though. They’re out. Mission accomplished.
