I enjoyed what I watched up until around Andrea Bocelli performing. Buckingham Palace is a stunning backdrop for a one off music festival. Enjoyed the cuts to montages of the Queen over the years and thought the lighting was excellent. Alicia Keys as well. I’m biased though as I was there in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee concert and loved it.
I enjoyed Mimi Webb singing House On Fire with lyrics like "I wanna set your house on fire" in front of members of the Royal Family, with Buckingham Palace behind her.
Excellent day/night , struggling to get away but never mind Coal hole looks good but closes at midnight according to their website and can’t see us making that so hopefully find somewhere back on route to Shepherd’s Bush
Yes, it was great. Apart from Rod Stewart murdering Sweet Caroline. And the light show was off the scale.
Personally think he gets away with it on his own more up tempo tunes. All you’re really looking for, if you’re a fan and willing to buy a ticket, is to enjoy it and sing along. He still holds a stage, but he’s not in a position now to be doing cover songs and I think he knew it.
Never watched it, not my cup of tea. Not for the ..anti royalist thing. More the .. anti aging celebrity that doesn't know when to call it a day.. thing.
The three women near the end who murdered "Climb every mountain" certainly knew how to ruin it. I've never heard anyone shout and scream a song so loudly and so badly ! I bet the queen went off for a wee while that was on. "One needs a piss right now, let one know when this is over. I can only cope with one ****." And by the way, why wasn't Paul McCartney wheeled out to put the final top hat on things. In a way you kind of missed him. Not. At least Elton was bussed in to give it a go. Even he's like Mr Dead off Harry Enfield. Too many old fogies being expected to perform like they did 40 years ago. A bit like me.
Given it all a wide berth. Seems even more ridiculous than usual that the person it’s for isn’t even in attendance for it.
I only saw the last hour. Most artistes ive never heard of. But brilliant tbf. Was dreading Dianna Ross, as in the last time I saw her perform to a live audience she was poor. She nailed it last night. I found it strange to have an American close the show though.
What part are you on about. Re the artistes I only saw the last hr. A yes. Re Dianna Ross. An American closing the show dedicated to the Queen of the commonwealth. ? But I did enjoy her set.
