Haven’t given this royal nonsense even a second of my time over the last few days. Whilst the majority of us are paying the highest bills for fuel and energy in 40 years, governed by a party of liars and cheats, with millions in poverty having to use food banks to survive, I find it rather embarrassing to be honest. Was the n*nce there? Did Kate look spectacular but Meghan cause uproar? Did Johnson apologise to Liz for partying the night before old racist Phil’s funeral? This country is like a bad comedy.
She is 96. And is not in the best of health. She attended Thursdays events and it took its toll. She has given up on many events in the past because of it. I personally didn't see the need to drag her out for hrs on end. sat in discomfort.
It’s crazy how many people always have bad things to say on here. certain old fogies might just need to lighten up a little.
a few people are just saying they thought a concert sounded a bit $hit. no big deal. lighten up a little.
Actually for balance Marc. quite a few enjoyed it. Music tastes and all that. Glad I Missed Rod Stewart personally as I've never been a fan of his. But millions of others are. I accept that.
At least we have an off button. Imagine her being there without one ! I had to smile, whenever the cameras showed the posh seats, royal family etc, it reminded me of scenes off a Spitting Image show. All looking rather wooden and silly waving flags.
Brilliant post,a bit different from the propaganda I keep hearing on the news, where we are coming together after a difficult couple of years. Mmmm,I don't feel that myself.
I don’t see the point of keeping someone in a ‘job’ she’s physically incapable of doing over 20 years beyond her pensionable term.
As I say it was only an hr mate. (Over the entire jubilee weekend) And the last one at that. I was just flicking Chanel's looking for summat to watch. And it was the light show that caught my eye. As for the rest of the weekend haven't got a clue. I've picked up snip bits on the news. Re the Queens health for example.
My daughter had unfettered access to St James Palace over the weekend, she called it a "bubble of self-important narcissists awarding each other medals while engaged in a fart smelling contest," She was genuinely scared that these people make decisions effecting us all while living in a fantasy.
Not a 'typical job' though is it. I'm certainly no royalist. But I do acknowledge other people think she has been a great servant. We may interpret servant in other ways. But I reckon most get the gist in this case. Privelage. ? Give me freedom to Live my life as i see fit.
Loved our Saturday night entertainment. We watched 'Later Presents Radiohead' they performed The Bends.
Just watching it through with my missus . TBH I don’t see why he is copping for ALL the stick though, given that he was forced to sing a song not suited to him then a much younger Duran Duran murdered their set, and I’ve still got the ‘pleasure’ of Elton John.
Well don’t watch it then ! I’m not big into it either, but neither do I feel the need ( like some) to keep attacking the millions of folk who have thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Each to their own .
Theres more than one thread about this weekend. And he did say ‘on here’ to be fair, so wasn’t speaking just about this subject. We’re hardly the most jovial, positive bunch on here. Doubt anybody could argue with that.
