It's not about him for the majority of Tory MPs, it's about how it will affect them. Will they loose their seat at the next election? If so, better for them to stick with him sadly.
Surely the Tory MP's must know what the majority of the country think about him without relying on a bit of booing to confirm it. Heads up their own arses maybe.
The cabinet Supporting him 100%. Given how unpopular he is with the population and especially the tory voters. Puts em in the same league of cnuts. Stupid cnuts at that. Crack on. keep him in power.
Get the feeling they are yearning for a Thatcherite figure. Step forward Liz Truss, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Chucky but is twice as evil.
The answer to that is probably not , but when hit in the face with a wet fish ie thousands of royalists booing your leader it might have dawned on some of them that these are people that vote for us , time to get rid ( I think he’ll survive personally ) There is another theory that the vote has been orchestrated before Starmer gets his fixed penalty and resigns making Johnson’s position even more untenable , I don’t think you can have another vote of confidence for 12 months or more
The polling in Wakefield and Tiverton is disastrous for them for the 23rd June bi-election. I’d imagine that is swaying a lot of marginal MPs at the minute.
I suspect it's his fawning acolytes who have got together and sent in letters to trigger the vote knowing he's just jot enough support to save his skin (and theirs!) for another 12 months before they get blown out of the water in the by-elections. I doubt whether we'll ever get to know who voted for/against as it will be a secret ballot but the 54 plus who've sent in letters can be easily swallowed up by the 181 votes required to keep him in power as it would need 127 more to turn their backs on him and I just can't see that happening.
https://m.skybet.com/politics/boris-johnson-specials-including-next-pm/event/25820842 1/3 to win the vote. Be interesting to see how the betting changes as the day goes on.
Rees Mogg stating that "in a democracy, one is enough".. in reply to being asked that DePfeffel would be fundamentally weakened by a large number of votes against but not enough to unseat him. I'm sure that echoes Johnsons whim too. I wouldn't be surprised if the efforts to shore up his position by whips, letters and personal speeches have very much the opposite effect.
He's too popular to be gone, but he will get a bruising as he won't win as comfortably as he'd expect. https://twitter.com/sajidjavid/status/1533738819639468032
