    if we don't get him we don't get him. I don't personally think we will be able to do enough to tempt him back out. I think we missed our chance. I just want to see that we at least tried.

    Why would he leave Sunderland to join us? That would be like leaving Liverpool to join Darfield Rd Rangers!

    Sorry to be pedantic but it was Darfield Road Juniors. (The old 'uns may remember them from the days of Hoyle Mill United etc back in the early 60's)

    Ha ha. Not pedantic at all. It's just by the time the OP and I were plying our trade for the Club in the 80's, they had become Darfield Rd Rangers.

    I never liked the 'Rangers' bit myself. Darfield Rd Celtic always had a better ring to it.

    Happy days, 7 or 8 divisions of Setdi football and two cups wi finals at Oakwell.
    I remember 'my' team Ward Green (cos I spent most weekends there at mi Gran's) winning a Cup then parading the village in an owd Tracky!
