Waste of time. No market. Lots of shut shops. Also just seen a walk in heath care centre is shutting.

Just remembered they are under tory.

Its no conspiracy they ******* hate us.

It's a 5hit hole all the pubs have gone too down Kirkgate. Grey Horse is derelict now and City Working Men's club has been gone years.

Me and my Dad used to have a pub lunch in the Rainbow and have one in the Arms next to Kirkgate Station. We were in there the day we drew 3-3 with Liverpool.

It's a slur, a very literal one. Just implying theyre poor/homeless/druggies looking through bins etc. Clever I know... :)

Wakefield used to have some great alternative music venues in the very late 80's & early 90's. Now it is pathetic. Everyone goes to Leeds.

Is the Spaniard still there int Ridings? :D

First pub I got dragged out o when I was 14, me and a mate had planned to get lucky, both told our mums we were stopping at each others. Silly bugger here had forgot about his Sun morning paper round, me bloody mum hadn't tho, so when she rang his house to check, the not so ingenious plan unfolded.
Neither of us got lucky that night.

First and only pub I’ve been barred from. At the age of three. Drank in there many a time years later - more fool them. I won

You're right we lost 3-2. Me and my Dad left Wakefield on the Pontefract train whilst we were losing. Then found out in Pontefract Morrisons that we'd lost 3-2. Where the f cu k did I get 3-3 from?

Can't be as bad as Rotherham, was there a couple of Saturdays back and it's dead absolutely dead, shops shut or stood empty no foot fall walked around town centre for about half hour and if there was 100 people I'd be amazed, it was pity full to witness and shows what out of town shopping centres can do to a town

I missed rooftops at the end of its days by about 3/4 years. Missed it at its peak by a decade.

Sadly no longer around since c. 1998. Possibly earlier.

83-87 would have been my years at Rooftops, always preferable to Whispers, living just as the houses started, (they start a lot sooner now) off Lee Lane in Royston, used to get the X? thru Sandal, Agbrigg snooker club, then onto Rooftops. Routine Sat night until I left tarn at 19
