If it isn't Warnock or Duff. I'd reluctantly take back Stendel. Reluctant in the sense that you're at Pontefract Races and you're relying on the lucky last race to get you out of the mire. You see an old stager that's done the course and distance and up pops Mr Wolf with form figures of 80800. You take the punt because it's all you've got left. It romps in or you're skint until the next payday and left with your hand on your d 1 ck.
We need Blackpool to get a wiggle on. If they appoint Rosenior, then presumably Duff would come to us, if he decides against staying at Cheltenham. For me, if the Duff option were to fall through, I would only have a Warnock (Director of Football) and Ramsey (first team coach) option left as a strong possibility. It has always been Michael Duff for me.
Even worse we hold on for Duff, Blackpool go for Rosenior and Duff decides to stay where he already is like JFH did.
If Daniel wants the job just give it to him. There's no guarantee with any of the names mentioned, so we might as well bite the bullet and employ a guy we do know. He will find it a lot more difficult than last time. But since Reds managers currently last a matter of months let's not get into paralysis by analysis.
If he has ambition of progressing then he can't really stay at Cheltenham. Not saying we are the right move and not trying to disrespect Cheltenham either but he has pretty much taken them as far as he can. They do not have the budget to realistically get any higher than they did last season. We are a clear step up from them despite being in the same league now and would surely pay more than Cheltenham which will help. I can't see Duff being at Cheltenham come the season start. Not saying he will be with us but I think he moves somewhere.
this seems to be panning out how people feared. unable to land any of the 'top 5' and so now back to square one, as we move onto the 'others'
He'd be better off staying away, doing an excellent job of pushing the fans away and driving the club down through the divisions
Sad state of affairs if we can only recruit our managers (minimum 8 weeks into the process) when other clubs that started only a couple of weeks ago ‘get a wiggle on’ and sort the wheat from the chaff so we can peck at the husk like remains
I think that Rosenior would be best choice for Blackpool and Duff best choice for us. Rosenior knows the Championship and Derby would have survived without the justified points deduction. He will be keen to use that knowledge to progress Blackpool's cause in a league he already knows and in which he has had success against the odds (bit like Blackpool also). Duff knows League One and would be able to put that knowledge to good use with us and with a stronger squad than he has at Cheltenham. I think that Duff's career might stall at Blackpool, given that Critcheley was such a good coach and got the very best out of an average squad. I think that his career would be more likely to thrive with us and it would be better for his cv to have got us back into the Championship than having got relegated, or nearly relegated with Blackpool. Of course, I am biased, though!!
Agreed. Critchley did so well with Blackpool and they were really over achieving given the squad they have there. If Duff went there and it didn't go well and he got sacked or relegated it would hinder his career. Unless it went awfully bad with us, it wouldn't hurt him too much as many of our fans do not expect us to go straight up anyway so less chance of damaging his career. Plus like you say he knows the league so with him I'd be confident we'd be fine.
Surely not when we need to make the biggest decision the club has had to make for long time. Explains the no show on the zoom call, it's time Khaled was shown the door
