We all know some of our big players are going to be sold. But, with the players we have who you think we could hold on to… before any new signings, what would your starting 11 be come the season start?

    ………..Walton………

    ..williams..Anderson..Kitchen..

    Honda..Kane..Wolfe..Oduor

    ..Iseka..Morris..Thomas..

    Subs.
    GK?
    Shraha
    Moon
    Benson
    Midfielder?
    Cole
    Marsh

Just a bit of fun. Probably a couple in there that won’t be pulling on a Reds shirt but hopeful.

I think Woodrow will remain with us - I can’t see a championship team coming in for him

styles Helik Morris and Collins all to go I think

Think we see Helik, Styles, Woodrow and Iseka leave.

Gone 352 based on the hope Duff joins soon and that's the set up he uses currently with Cheltenham.

    Collins

    Mads moon kitchen

    Brittain Wolfe benson Kane Williams

    Morris cole

A few additions needed to plug gaps of the departing players

Assuming Styles Helic Morris Woodrow Mads and Collins all go. And Oxford take Kane (I think that’s worst case though Iseka and Thomas may go)
    Walton
    Williams Moon Kitchen
    Brittan Hondamark Wolfe Benson Oduor
    Marsh Victor

But if we offload many of those expected to go there will be some new names coming in. I hope

That looks like a side Athersley Rec could beat.

I still don't think Collins will go.. plenty of good keepers out there. Its a position where they've really.. upt their game.. in the last five years with their fitness and independent coaching.

Keepers like to play and if Collins says he plays. We'll have to see but it wouldn't surprise me in he was still here come September.

Ed.. but like most things will come down to money.. offers we get and wages he's on.

To be honest I don’t really care on Collins. Sure I’d prefer him to stay but we have a decent keeper in Walton so that’s the one position we have an adequate replacement

I'd be more than happy for Walton to become No.1. I'd put him on par with Collins at least. They both have attributes and faults. But I always look back to when Walton was in the team prior to Collins getting that cup game. And folk (apart from 1 poster who thought he was complete cack) Generally had nothing bad to say about him. Other than rushing out of the area. Which was a club tactic and not a personal one. As seen when Collins followed to type.

Trouble is with goalies, in my view. They will go play second fiddle (at a new club with a higher profile). Which sometimes becomes an eternity to dislodge the no.1. Generally because of injury. Or age/retirement.

Take Adam Davies he's played 33 games in the three yrs since he left. Signed for blunts in January played 0. Possibly second choice next season .
If he'd stayed at Barnsley. He'd have probably quadrupled that 33 games. But as they say, Money talks.

The club need to make a decision on Collins ASAP because Walton won't be number 2 next season. One of them will go.

I still think all of the following will leave:
    Helik
    Andersen
    Styles
    Brittain
    Woodrow
    Morris
    Palmer
    Adeboyejo
    Oduor
    Thomas
    Brittain
    Iseka
    Benson (on loan)
Walton (presuming Collins stays which I think he will)

So based on who's left, we've got some gaps to plug.

    ....................... Collins...........................
    .....Williams.. (new CB).. Kitching.........
(new RWB).. Kane.. Wolfe.. (new LWB)
    ........................ Aitchison.......................
    ...............(new ST).... (new ST).............

    Bench
    (new GK)
    Marsh
    Sraha
    Hondermarck
    Moon
    Cole
    (new player)

Blimey that would be some exodus! Not saying it won't happen, but from Palmer downwards on your list (barring Walton) I think every one of those would struggle to garner interest. I don't think we would loan Benson out either if all those left. I could see some of them being released, but then we would need to replace if the others go.

I guess I've taken it a bit to the extreme. I do feel we need at least 5 or 6 new first team players though if we're going to get out of this rut.

If, and big if, we end up keeping Collins, Madds, Jordan Williams and Carlton Morris. What you’ve got there are four players aiming for PFA Team of the Year come May 2023.

There’s not many better strikers in League One than Morris, and I’d struggle to name a keeper better than Collins (equally as good maybe). I’m a big fan of Jordan Williams at Championship level, never mind a step down, and I think Madds is a better footballer than Liam Lindsay.

What you have with those four is a good spine to the team and plenty of experience. The challenge then is building a midfield that can dominate football games. If we were to do that, under a competent head coach with some new recruits, I we’ll be well amongst the top six. Lose the whole lot and I think we’re looking at mid table, but with the Playoffs within reach at various points in the season.

Jordan Williams is by far and away the most underrated player at the club.

No idea. It seems the best option to the players I’ve chosen

We certainly missed him when he got injured last season. The team were looking better and picking points up until Jordans injury.

They can all leave for me apart from Morris, Collins, Mads and Williams. Clean slate apart from that, this is assuming Helik leaves, which he will.
