With Conway gone and the appointment of Duff is this enough to bring back the missing season ticket sales? or are they waiting for us to be top of the league first or just waiting or to see what players are sold or is it the cost of a season ticket or has last season drove fans away for ever?
or waiting for an ownership who’s main objective is not one of profit? The last month has felt very encouraging but as Neerav said Spectemur Agendo.
With the early bird gone, no I don't think it will make any significant increase to our season ticket sales.
To be honest I am fed up of fans carping on about why they will not renew , I have no problem with fans renewing or not renewing as it is everyone"s choice & there can be cartloads of reasons why fans cannot renew , financial, family , travel etc etc the list is endless & all fully understood , but what gets me is that with some fans they seem to have to justify not renewing & thus just finding reason after reason to make their point, well to be honest nobody has to justify anything at all ,just simply do not bother , I and am sure a lot more could not give a monkeys why some do not want to attend regularly , that is their choice its as simple as that , no personal reasons are required .
We’ve sold as many season tickets as the last time we were in League One under Stendel. We know there’s many factors influencing some people to not renew, with the added challenge of the cost of living crisis. If we put any kind of run together it will be interesting to see what kind of pay on the day crowds we can pull in.
or the recent game day experiences haven’t been enjoyable or the lack of investment overall has driven the dissolution or people backing off have found other things to do
I don't remember anyone saying they wanted Duff as manager. Could have been one or two I suppose, but if he was mentioned I didn't read it anywhere. Then news broke that the club were speaking to him and some thought him a decent choice, others not so much. Then Blackpool seemed interested too and Duff's stock rose considerably. Now we're getting posts asking if season ticket sales will rise and claiming people should apologise to the club. Why? Because we haven't yet announced the appointment of a manager that no one said they wanted?
Someone has started a thread where the topic is if the head coach appointment will tempt any of those who haven't renewed back. Do you only want those who have renewed to comment?
We all know ultimately results are what matter. For me the issue now is I've given up my seat so coming back could be unappealing to me down the line. That said me and a friend (who also didn't renew) have already discussed looking at the fixtures next week and planning some away days.
Neerav himself understood that actions not words are required to convince folk that bridges are being built. As it stands, he's made a good effort so far, but also as it stands, apart from the boardroom coup, we are still in words territory. Duff isn't official yet, either
The reality is the "early bird" is the real price. This has been the case since it was first introduced. Its purpose is to get people to renew as early as possible, likely for budgeting reasons (which I understand) The "reward" as you call it is akin to paying off a fine earlier before it increases. I think similar could be achieved simply by use of the deadline that seats are reserved until. I just think the increase in price precludes further sales as we get closer to the season starting when some people may be tempted. This isn't even a criticism of our current owners, I have been firmly against this approach since is it was first introduced.
I just want a large number of fans back in the ground and want to know what it will take to get that. If now Conway has gone and we have appointed a strong british coach that isnt enough what is? Bigger crowds bring more money in to help us progress quicker and the matchday atmosphere is better and thats what I want out of BFC a club that can progress and an enjoyable matchday, Im not over bothered about a pie and a scoreboard, i can cope with the traffic delays and the west stand toilets, Im ok with Khaled not telling me all the financial details and conversations that go on behind the scenes. Secret owners meh, Is it as simple as being near the top of the league brings big crowds and thats it because Im pretty sure we will take 30 thousand to Wembley in a playoff final.
Disagree. It's like booking a table for Christmas Dinner before 1st September and getting a bottle of fizz for the table as a reward for booking early. Or 10% off your final bill. It's an incentive for those booking early. Not a punishment or fine for booking late.
I'd gladly go and watch us play. My absence is sadly beyond the clubs control. And that goes the same for travelling overseas, going to gigs, or being in any place with significant numbers of people. Hey ho.
Maybe it was akin to paying a fine off last season lol. The club need money for the transfer market in the summer so rewarding those who pay early is sense imo , It’s wouldn’t do us many favours if everyone waited while August when new arrivals would have missed pre season.
It's a fair point. What were some supporters demanding from January 2022 onwards? Conway Out Investment from the owners Owners to admit that mistakes were made Owners to promise to learn from their mistakes More visibility of the owners A British coach with experience in the lower leagues and who 'gets it' A promise for results on the pitch to be the priority I'm sure there were a few others as well, and whilst some of the points above can be flagged as a work in progress, there's definitely evidence of most issues being dealt with.
