The sight of it alone was enough to make you want to about turn and forget all about your toothache.

I miss the laughing gas the most. Had some really tripped out experiences on it as a kid.

Oh god I forgot all about that sight. And the belt driven drill. Slowly grinding into my teeth.
    Horrible memories

They stopped giving me it as I turned violent for some reason. One time they had to bring 2 blokes in off the street to help restrain me while they finished.

I was only 14 at the time

Some stuff that was; 50 years later I can still remember some of the vivid "dreams" I had at the time.

Butcher Blackburn in Victoria Road. After my last encounter with him it was over 40 years before I ventured near another dentist.

Mr Toon on Dodworth Road, where the Italian restaurant is now was my place of torture.
Can still remember the gas mask getting closer to my face as the voices echoed and the room began to spin.
Then coming round after after and being violently sick.......

The thing about having a tooth out with gas was the blood afterwards. Horrible!

So much better to have the numbing injection which stops the pain and the blood flow

He took a tooth of mine out. What an ugly ******* he was when you first saw him
when coming round from the gas.

He used to be my dentist. He had the laughing gas though. It was like an episode of Mr Benn at every visit. Trip advisor rating 5 stars.

Had my first tooth removed in 50+ years in xmas 2020. Couple of visits for the odd filling before that. I paid £70 for the removal and would have gladly emptied my bank account when I managed to get a dentist to pull the B'std. I wanted to kill everyone within arms length. (Travelled to Thorne the previous day only to be turned away, even though I had an appointment organised online,) 1 full week between xmas and new year. That'll teach me to get registered. When I can get one that is. Waiting lists are horrendous.

Butcher Creighton at Stairfoot, ex RAF. Had loads of photos and memorabilia around the surgery. Still a dentist there now called Genesis or something.

Mr Naliah from Hoyland. No injections, no gas. Just went for it.
