Here he comes to save the day…

Nah as incompetent to shut off the west stand alienating fans, saying our best ever season in the past 20 years was a failure because we didn’t sell any players, list goes on.

Too early to judge on Duff’s appointment like, but I obviously hope he does well he seems a decent guy unlike the last coach your mate hired.

Khaled was asked questions after being here two weeks which were impossible to answer due to his lack of time here.
A couple of weeks after, he started giving some answers but because it wasn't the answer some wanted to hear he was incompetent. In my view he was given a raw deal so early in his tenure.

This doesn’t make much sense to be honest. Nobody is ‘my mate’ and he didn’t actually say it was our best season ever or that it was a failure. But if you can’t separate decent discussion with trying to label as one side or the other, then there’s really not much point.

It really does make sense but suit yourself. I know he’s not your mate was just winding you up, as whenever a bad word is said about El-Ahmed there you are to defend him. Bit weird like, but hey ho it’s your life. You’re entitled to your opinions just like I am and anyone else is.

And I was referring to the Ismael season being one of our best seasons in the last 20+ years because it was, however Khaled in his first press conference called it a failure as we didn’t sell any players. His words not mine.

Here’s some facts though rather than random rumours:

    - West Stand closure was bad
    - Hiring of Poya was bad
    - Recruitment in January was poor, but almost understandable based on management of the club over the Summer
    - Comment on value of players was misplaced, but depending how you interpret it, not as bad as some made out (just in my opinion - I’m allowed one)
    - Handling of Paul Conway related questions - bad
    - Hiring or Michael Duff - good
    - Supporter focused initiatives, season ticket pricing, and other activations, good

This notion that I haven’t criticised the CEO is pretty false. People just don’t like a consistent positive outlook, based on the fact that why would you be constantly miserable about something that is meant to be a positive hobby and pass time? I get enough stress at work in real life to feel that way 24/7 about a hobby and side interest.

I’ve only ever spoken facts, not rumours.

Again very early to pass judgement on Duff’s appointment, I’d maybe give him sometime first.

Just look at your list though, you’ve managed to find 2 positives against a lot of negatives, with 1 we can’t even pass judgement on yet. Doesn’t really scream successful CEO to me.

I hope El-Ahmed does come good but for me and possibly 100’s of more fans he has a lot of work to do to rebuild that trust in him.

Your initial point was that I don’t find any negatives, hence the ‘here he is’ post. I just showed that’s not exclusively the case. I think you just proved my point in a way, so I’m happy to thank you for that one.

Yeah I was referring to you seemingly defending the CEO whenever a bad word is said about him. I’m not only poster that’s ever said this, a few have now. Funny that.

I must say for someone that’s an admin for this forum and a sort of figurehead for the Supporters Trust you don’t half come off as very catty and confrontational to your fellow Barnsley fans. People are allowed other opinions to yourself.

I know you’re not the only one, but I’ve also just given examples of where you’re not quite painting a realistic picture.

As for your catty comment, that might be the case, but again as I’ve mentioned previously you’re Indie Red from God knows where, and I’m fairly visible. So maybe I don’t shrug off as much of the personal criticism across multiple platforms as well as I should. You call it catty. I call it defending myself against fairly outright lies.

If people have been doing all the stuff you've said then that's all out of order - not sure which poster you're referring as I haven't seen all this but anyway it's inexcusable.

However, I do think it's reasonable to seek ethical reassurances about ways of working from a bloke who's opening gambit was that he'd turned the phone off to avoid speaking to Watford after we screwed them over for the Man City friendly.

That was delivered as a humorous joke to anybody who attended. It was then taken as something completely different by those who read the transcript.

That’s not me defending him. That’s just the fact of what happened.

In my opinion Khaled gets a raw deal because he was appointed by the previous board. The CEO works on behalf of the board. when he first started he was asked a number of questions he didn’t feel he could answer and offered to find out the answers. It seems to me, that the then board refused to give the information requested because of “court case”, blah blah.
Eventually he gave up and said “you’d have to ask the owners”.
I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt that this change of board will be good for both him and the club. It appears that companies putting money into the club through sponsorship feel he is better than previous CEOs.

Fair enough mate, I wasn't there and it's easy to get context wrong written down. I'm still a bit uncomfortable with the actual act of what we did though...

You know when someone tries to make light of a situation in what is essentially a new crowd that they’re trying to win favour with? Like a new boss presenting to his team?

That was Khaled here. In writing looks a million miles away from what he meant. Just an innocent joke that certain supporters (not you) won’t let go.

    That’s fair enough.

End of the day, my initial post on this thread was about my displeasure in the CEO’s work so far in his tenure. You disagreed with me and I made valid points as to why and I stand by them and until I see significant progress and changes by him I shall stand by them.

You’re entitled to your own opinions on the matter. As is anyone else.

Hopefully this time next year, we’re getting ready for a season back in the Championship.

100% agree with this and welcome it. So maybe don’t make it personal next time and we can all chat/debate to our heart’s content?

    You're talking utter BS.

Loko The Tyke was someone that pushed the CEO the most at the QandA in around November time or whatever it was.
Just because someone doesn't write **** online doesn't mean in person they won't question that person.

I was there at that QandA in the Garrison I think it was. It was seen as a bit of a joke at the time but lets be honest with ourselves. Pozzo Family weren't affected by it at all. They did Business with Barnsley in January and will do in the future if it helps Watford FC. Also they don't care if they upset someone. Look at how things happened with Edwards and how it ended with Hodgson.

    No I’m not.

You’ve talked utter BS during all your time on here. On both accounts, the one you were rightly banned on and this one you’ve been wrongly allowed to post again on.
