Shame as I really liked him. Was never the type of striker/forward we ended up needing sadly, and didn't progress from some signs of promise at least finishing wise. That header at Millwall and the goal at Forest were the key/only highlights but not bad ones!

Another £250k saved off the wage bill though.

I agree. I loved that he watched the play-off games in his full kit at home despite being out on loan. Seems a nice chap. Shame it didn't work out here for him, as he scored some important goals. We'd have been relegated had he not scored that winner against Forest.

Nice parting shot. Best wishes young man.
Do we get a fee or any compensation. Doesn't mention if he's left on a free. ?

Pucked up that Mitch Ward was the 1000th Alunmni. That ended in tears. Every day is a schoolday.

    Expensive flop.

Signed just before the transfer deadline after selling Moore.

Too soft and often missing in games.

However wont forget his injury time winner against Forest.

Well then that's on us, the whole Moore departure was just bad business.

I feel like if we ever didn't set up a player to succeed it was Schmidt. Never played a system the suited his abilities, if you aren't going to do that, why buy the player? Another bad scouting decision for me.

All the best Patrick, didn't quite work out, but the last minute winner against Forest two years ago will live long in the memory.

I beg to differ. Looked miles off it to me everytime he kicked a ball in the championship it wasnt like we played him as a lone striker and hoofed the ball to him every week. He never won anything in the air his link up play was dreadfull at times you wouldnt even notice him playing just lost. But he did a few nice finishes to help towards the escape so good luck.

Scored some important goals for us, that’s for sure. I always thought he was a decent finisher that could’ve worked well next to a big man but that never happened.

    Good luck Schmidt.

Good luck Patrick in the rest of your career. The goal against Forest and the assist at Brentford played a massive part in our survival season and more than paid for your signing.

Didn't we allegedly pay 7 figures for him? Not the greatest bit of business we've ever done.

Still, cleared a fair chunk off the wage bill and hopefully received a bit of a fee.

Shocking player, but I've nowt against him so good luck to the lad.

Good luck Patrick. Scored a couple of important goals and very important assist. It hasn't worked out for him with us but at least he had the balls to go abroad and try his luck.
