Nandy doesn't want them but doesn't say how she would sort it. That's the problem with Labour that they moan at things but don't always say what they would do.

How much are people affected by strikes next week on here? Millions across the country being distrupted with work, appointments such as hospital and leisure things. It will be a pain for people to get to big events like Headingley for the Cricket or Glastonbury.

You mean apart from she says that they need to get round the table and talk to them? You mean apart from saying that the Tories took the power to negotiate off the companies which implies she'd give it back.

Stop looking to blame people who are blameless and focus your anger at the Tory scum who ARE in charge

I don’t want the strikes either and I expect most of those who voted to strike don’t but like Nandy I can’t do anything about them.

I assume you have a solution though as you are moaning about not getting to leasure events what is your solution?

The attitude of post-Brexit Tory voters in this country of "We can vote for a possible turd sandwich (Labour) or a 100% certified turd sandwich (Tories), let's go with the latter" is the most baffling thing to me.

Voting for the party that grinds the country into the dirt because "there's no alternative" - just **** off.

I am OK thankfully. She says they should get around the table but doesn't say what Labour would do. It's going to be a week of carnage and just like Extinction Rebellion they are going the wrong way about getting public support. Trains were propped up with 16 billion during a time when they ran with barely anyone on them. Tickets are overpriced, you don't always get a seat at rush hour and train passenger numbers are still way down compared to pre 2020. If the government give in to demands then what? A year from now they think remember last year let's strike again?

Thanks to our s**t education system which teaches to pass exams rather than instilling critical thought, open mindedness and civic values we will continue to churn out a high percentage of people who don't give a f**k about anyone else if it's at the perceived expense of themselves.
At the ballot box they will continue the same thought process and vote for the party they've been convinced will keep them better off.
Self interest rules in the UK and much of the rest of the world. I can't see an end to it I'm afraid.

How long is it going to take a new labour government to repair the damage done by the Tories. Is it 8 to 12 years or more and as a hardworking male who works a lot of hours every week will I benefit at all. Will my tax go down so I can work less hours, we do not receive any benefit support at all and I pay a lot of tax for working lots of hours to support others in our country.

I will be mid 60s in 12 years so hopefully i can be looked after a bit then wiith everything i will have contributed over 50 working years.

Incredible post!!! Rather than talk about the people who could fix it, he talks about the people who can’t. Talk about political bias?

So, despite saying they would negotiate to find a resolution, she’s still not said what they would do?
Absolute joke thread. No wonder this country is so screwed

I have no idea. But I'm confident that they will try and repair the damage, unlike the current lot who will perpetuate and exacerbate the damage for as long as ordinary people keep voting them in on the basis that "there's no alternative".

Typical Tories lambast Labour rather than the Party that actually can stop this .
you should be asking what the actual people who are in charge can do about it ,
Keep following the Daily Mail mantra of blaming the opposition for the Tories fek ups makes you look foolish .

Tory tactic since they were formed. Try pit the working class against one another. (And Lots fall for it.) A deflection from their own incompetence and failings.

So it’s the Labour parties fault is it??? Just answer me these questions, how long have the tories been in power? Who’s to blame for the cost of living crisis, who have held wages back, who have increased taxes for the working people????

Jeremy Corbin was it? thought not.
You say Nandy has no solutions, have the Tories??? Who’s responsibility is it the negotiate, Labour or the criminal Tory party??

i know what the answer to all these questions are. You need to give your head a shake and get into the real world…

Arthur Scargill said it best when he told any Union member " you are only going to get what you are prepared to take, because they are not going to give it to you"

And if anyone out there thinks the union members want a strike & want to cause misery, you cannot be more mistaken, it's the tories & I think deep down you know it.

They're not after public support, they're after a raise in line with inflation, which is absolutely fair enough as any raise less than inflation is a pay cut in real terms.

All the issues you've mentioned are the fault of those in charge, not the workers who are striking. The Tories try to pit ordinary folk against each other to stop them from directing their anger upwards, and they piss themselves when mugs like you fall for it.
