JORDAN WILLIAMS GIVEN THE ALL-CLEAR Interviews The Reds defender will shortly return to light training after a successful scan proved he's on the road to recovery. Continue reading on the official site...
If anyone deserves a full injury free season it's him. He has no luck. As he can play in a few positions he should be a key player next season.
He's about to start his 5th full season at the club, and has only managed 100 appearances in that time. I really hope he can stay fit because his pace in particular will be a real asset in this division.
As long as the knee injury doesn’t reduce his pace, he could be one of our better performers this season. His issue might be consistently playing in the same position, as he’s effective in a few.
If we're playing a back three, I hope he gets a run as the right sided centre back. If we can keep hold of Andersen to play in the middle, with Williams and Kitching either side, that's not a bad base to start with.
With that headline I thought he'd just had a test at the GUM clinic! Needs an injury free year - awful and out of place at left-back, very mediocre right-back but has always done well as one of three centre-backs with his pace often compensating for the less mobile taller guys. His injury whilst playing well in the right centre back position was the final straw to any chance we had last season.
Be a good season for him if he stays fit - has definitely improved his game just needs to stay injury free
I`d say he looked decent at Championship level.- would be great for him and us if he can stay injury free.
Prior to his injury both the player and the team were picking up some form.In my view we really missed him and I'm happy to see him back.
Felt sorry for Jordan last season I thought we had just found his best position in a back 3 offering pace at the side of Helik and Anderson infact I think that's how the injury happened running past the pair to make a last ditch goal saving tackle not sure he's good enough going forward to play wing back roll.
I’ve been a fan of Jordan for quite a while now and echo a lot of what has been said in this thread already. If we’re playing 3-5-2 under Duff, he could be a huge asset as one of the sided centre backs. With Cauley probably going, I would’ve thought he’ll be in the running for the armband surely?
I think the key thing this summer is we bring in someone who can be a captain. I don't readily see anyone who is likely to stay being captain material just yet.
Do you not think that’s more down to injuries though? If he stays fit, I think he’s always in the team. I only meant in the frame too. I guess it depends who stays and who leaves.
I guess it depends who does stay. I guess, as has been mentioned in press conferences, if we are going to bring in some experience, they could fit a captain role.
