Had a little look on the Gillingham forum too from his time playing there. Nothing but praise. A couple had suggested him going back there last summer and were astounded that he didn't end up moving on, or breaking into the Bristol team sooner. I guess certain clubs are a lot less willing to give their academy players a go, and more ready to sign, at great expense, a more experienced ready to go player. Carlton Morris at Norwich is another example that springs to mind.
duff said in his interview that he's happy to leave the research and player lists to the analysts, but that ultimately he will have the final decision. pretty confident that every first team squad signing will be sanctioned by duff.
Yes he did say he'd have the final say. But I got the impression he would be able to recommend from his own knowledge of players as well. Didn't rule out going back for a Cheltenham player for example.
If he’s not photographed getting a pizza from Don Pepe’s or at least drinking a pint at The Black Monks, I’ll be disappointed. In all seriousness though he sounds a decent signing.
I've heard it's not being announced until Saturday, as they want to video him pointing at a couple shagging around the back of M&S on Friday night.
To be fair, am pretty sure that both Stendel (Radlinger, Bahre) and Struber (Ritzmaier, Solbauer) have been allowed direct influence on incomings, as long as they fit in the budget.
