Had never heard of him before this week. Fast becoming my favourite person of the year. Speaking truth to power, with grace, calm and accuracy. Watching him dismantle people is great. Should be a spectator sport. You can see the chief agitators physically seething, that they can't undo him. What a bloke.
Agree always calm , I see the Tory line is to refer to him and RMT as militants . Bizarrely saw an interview with Raab where he was ranting about militant unions asking for 7% rise then a minute later said he had offered Barristers 15% ( they want 25%)
Legal Aid fees have been cut by around 40% over the last decade or so. And quite incredible to think junior barristers are getting as little as £12k a year. Given inflation over the same period, a 15% uplift gets them nowhere near what they were earning in 2012.
I enjoyed him on Monday's Newsnight calling the slimy Tory minister a liar RMT's Mick Lynch calls junior minister a liar 15 times on Newsnight - YouTube
V Kirsty Wark... v Kay Burley....not sure it's him who gets flustered V Chris Philp.....my favourite v Jonathan Gullis....
Reminds me of the Miner’s strike when all the Tory-backed presenters/ journalists worked themselves up into a frenzy trying to be the one who backed him into a corner. They failed then and it pretty much looks they’ll fail with this guy, despite them and others saying they did.
I’m not saying they haven’t been hard done to but so has everyone else , the first pay rise I got in 10 yrs was after I retired as I’ve got an index linked pension .
He's ******* mint. He's advocating truthfully and passionately for a cause he believes in. Which is a rare occurrence in modern politics.
I'd never heard of him either, a joy, inspiring and a lifter of spirits in these dark days. The one on Newsnight is particularly good, Kirsty Wark needs pensioning off. She tries to fit every interview to her own narrative, there are Media Students who can interview better than her. She asks the Minister about high waged economy and what does that look like.He then rambles on about the minimum wage. They don't want ordinary people in work to have a decent standard of living, they don't give a crap about us and people are stupid if they think they do.
And here's Piers Moron trying to demonise him.....a more pathetic piece of "journalism " I've yet to see .
And the same media who got bozo into power and has kept him there attacks him and tries to blame him I wonder how many of them benefit financially to having a corrupt Tory government and keeping the little man down
A rough guess would be all of them. Love that they can’t deal with a bloke who calls a liar a liar, a ridiculous question a ridiculous question and takes no ****.
Sadly it seems that all too often these days organisations you would expect to represent the people are instead cosying up to those in power. When that happens you can be sure that someone is making money from the arrangement.
Meanwhile the BBC will be 5punking £millions on a music festival; of which the largest proportion of their funders, don't give a shiny 5hit about.
Why is it when a working man goes through all the channels e.g. 89% of a democratic vote of the workforce voted to strike for pay and conditions and no compulsory redundancies that the media, the Tory party, and their cap-doffing self-harming followers think these people are the enemy of the state?.
i only wish the cwu would or could have joined in to add fuel to the fire, but anti trade union laws forbid us on taking ia until around august now, though it probably still will be ongoing, this bloke is an absolute legend and wish he was speaking on our behalf right now, terry pullinger just isn't media friendly and without trying to stereotype him, he's like a millwall fan reasoning with an hammers fan about a dodgy var result
The televised media really need to up their game here. I think because he sounds like some working class Cockney straight out of Hackney, they fail to give him the respect he deserves or to properly plan their interview. I thought Kay Burley was a decent interviewer but Mick Lynch ripped her to pieces and made her look a fool - without breaking sweat. it might also be useful if their were a little more balance in the coverage of this dispute. I’m not seeing much evidence of the Employers side being called to account for their part in this failure.
i don't know 1 person nor ever known who relies on the rail network 100% to get to work or their kids to school nor hospital appointments, RMT gave enough notice to make alternative plans then the media harping on about glastonbury? ffs drive and park up, minibus or get a bus if it means that much, hitch! it's not the end of the world, lynch is 100% correct that the rich just want to get even richer off the working class efforts making us work even harder for less with worse T&C's, within RMG this week we was told there's no money after record profits last year, then the CEO gets around a 170k failure bonus and next dividends up around 5% for the shareholders after giving around £450m in bonus dividends in jan! the labour party no where to be seen so no wonder boris and co are laughing their ****** off
