Like a lot of people we put off renewing our passports due to covid. I applied for 4 just short of 10 weeks ago, 2 renewals, 1 new and a replacement for a lost one.
We received the 2 renewals and the new one within a fortnight but the replacement one seems to have disappeared into the void.
Im off work Monday so it will probably be a day on the phone trying to chase it up but with 21 days to the holiday its getting to squeaky bum time

2 families i know got theirs within about 4 weeks.. Seems 99% of people aren't having issues so the problem pile can't be that big.

Did you do the tracking service?

As it was for a lost passport we had to cancel the old one which we did and have someone confirm my daughters identity again which we did. The passport tracking service shows that they had received confirmation of her identity on the 27th april. After that nothing

Try Complaints , a friend of mine had a similar problem with a renewal , he ended up going to Liverpool to pick it up two days before his holiday , he’d applied 12 weeks before . There doesn’t seem to be any reason why some get dealt with timely and other get delayed . My wife and I applied at the same time , she got hers in 3 weeks I got mine in 10 weeks

Quite a big thread on this already, you cant do owt until 14 days before when apparently the ugrade team can get involved and you can pay for a fast track but that still isnt guarenteed,

I applied for daughters in plenty of time, it arrived and the currier ignorred signs to use the mail box at side of door and not the letter box and fed the passport to our dogs. so I had to send off for another on May 27th. As the previous one only took 2 weeks thought we would be ok. we fly in 15 days and passport still at "old Passport Received" stage. phoning up tomorrow to try and fast track. if that fails next stage is to drive to passport office without an appointment 48 hours before flight
