https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/18995047/wayne-rooney-leaves-derby-immediate-effect/ I thought it was odd he's been in Ibiza this week on a family holiday when clubs have gone back to pre season training. He's enhanced his reputation by how well he did last season. He's clearly not had assurances on incoming transfers, so I don't blame him. He will get another Championship club no worries and I wouldn't be shocked if next season a Premier League club took a punt on him.
I'm not an expert on any of this, by any means, but in my, albeit naive, opinion, I have nothing but admiration for the way Wayne Rooney has conducted himself throughout his time with Derby. He is not to blame for the appalling way the business was run, and although the adulation he received from the media was often sickening, that's not his fault and he did not court it. I could well be wrong, but I think he's a good guy.
He doesn't score well in the marital fidelity stakes (allegedly) but I agree - he's got a good honest committed footballing heart.
