The line ups and subs will be interesting, may potentially give a clue to who is staying and who is going, injuries aside obviously

Would have thought he would be given the chance to look at all our players at the club if He has the decision to who is staying………………………………..?

I think as previously has been done, we'll see practically a full 11 subs at half time. Be interesting to see if there are any omissions from the squad though.

Be interesting how today goes when we've now three keepers. Today might be an indicator to who's leaving.

Not sure I’d read too much into team selection. I’d guess he’ll be having a good look at everyone over the friendlies. Any absences from the squad might be telling though. Can’t imagine anyone’s gonna risk injuries in a friendly, if they’re on the pad to leave.

I’d be pretty sure that Michael will have been appraised of the situation prior to joining.

I would hope he knows what he’ll have to work with and will be aiming to get the best out of them.

It wouldn’t be a great start to the relationship if he was expecting to start the season with players who are likely to be sold to repair the finances of the club.

I'd expect 22 different players to get a run out. I assume this will include the likes of Morris and Helik (if fit, which I don't think he is), but not Styles, Palmer and Adeboyejo, all of whom have been absent from training videos.

It will be good to see what formation we go with, and if it's a 5 man midfield, who he plays in CM. I've banged on about it all summer, but I'd love to see a midfield 3 of Kane, Wolfe and Aitchison. With a front 2 of Morris and Marsh.

Always a good day the first pre-season game of the year.

Just want to see us pass the ball. Think its an artificial pitch today so hopefully nothing too much from the workshop players in terms of physicality.

Forgive me ignorance, but does the employment of our new signings start on 1st July? Also, do we require clearance from the Welsh & Scottish FA's before we can field three of them? Finally, will this have a bearing on the starting XI against Worksop?

They’ve only been back a week, today is all about fitness and Duff seeing what we’ve got and attitudes, away from training in a competitive environment.

I agree with you , some fans tend to look at every team sheet for friendlies & jump to all kind of conclusions where generally the truth is that they are merely training & fitness exercises , best rule of thumb is to have a look at the team sheet on the opening day of the season , that will give some big clues .

Interesting to see the formation then if Thomas is in the hole behind ALI and Cole or if one of them are playing wide and we are playing 3-4-3

My 2 lads played on this pitch a couple of month back and it's a really quick pitch, so ball to feet is best, bounce of the ball is exaggerated and can run away from you, the worksop lads will know this so it'll take barnsley players a while to get used to it, with it being an all weather pitch.
