10 year warranty. 15 year life cycle. Even if they've dropped to 80% capacity by 10 years, you're still saving a lot of money.
I've been thinking about this for some time but not had chance to look at any figures in detail. I have quite high electric usage due to kids & an electric car. I have the Octopus Go tariff and charge the car most nights during the 4 hours @ 7.5p but if I install batteries will there be enough spare to charge the battery? I guess 2 Hours charging the car and two hours charging the batteries is better than nothing but will obviously effect the payback timescales.
You can charge the battery and the car at the same time… same as having your cooker and washing machine on at the same time.
I was looking into this. This guy does some analysis of his battery-only system Seem to think the ROI was around 6 years.
