3,101 miles if you go to every away game..... https://fanbanter.co.uk/how-far-fan...lub-must-travel-longest-to-shortest-distance/ I thought that was a lot because it's more southern based compared to the championship being northern based. Then I saw Plymouth fans have 5572 miles to travel which is crackers and it would have been worse had Sunderland not got promoted.
This might be a daft question and I might make myself look very silly, but... Barnsley to Hillsborough is 12 miles according to that. Hillsborough to Vale Park is 46 miles. But Barnsley to Vale Park is 77? How is it 31 miles further between Oakwell and Vale Park, than Hillsborough and Vale Park? Presumably its as the crow flies. But even Google maps has a route that's less than 77 miles.
Dropped on lucky as we're on holiday in Bude until Sunday 31st so Plymouth here we come. Yooooooooooo Redzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I think it's probably road miles. Hillsborough to Vale Park across the peaks probably is only 46 miles. I'm assuming for Barnsley to Vale Park they've gone for via the M1/A50 or M60/M6, which is longer but probably quicker than going across the peaks.
Simples. Go to Hillsborough and travel from there! See their ground does have some good things about it.
If you google maps it. Those figures are correct. Based on shortest travel time rather than just distance.
I wish those figures weren't only 1 way. Make that 6,200 miles there and back. Or to make it worse sounding 10,000 km. An average 270 miles return journey. Per game. 11,OOO Miles for Plymouth fans. 480miles average per game return. So bloody glad I don't follow em. I'm a hardened traveller but I dont think I could manage that unless I had a private plane. Burton lowest. Half that of plymouth. Average 240 per game return.
