I couldn't stand Thatcher but she had some principles not good ones if you were a working class northerner but there is no comparison to the lying toe rag that’s our current PM

A good insight there from The Times, who are arguably the number 1 Tory mouthpiece with the contacts they have.

My mate. 50yrs ago was telling everyone at work he'd banged this bird and said where she lived. It became obvious to the foreman. This was his daughter my mate was on about. Not best pleased is putting it mildly lol.

It is unbelievable. I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come for the future- I fear it is. I know they aren't angels and never have been, but this frequent lying and clinging onto the role despite waves of controversy is unprecedented.

I hope you're right. His NEW and present front bench are making themselves look feckin idiots. Defending the indefensible.

from what I gleaned last night, sounds like when, not if. impression I got was the forthcoming 22 Committee elections would effectively be based on a rule change, to allow another confidence vote before summer recess. if that goes through, sounds like it's curtains. the assumption of course is that a second confidence vote would go against him...but we shouldn't forget this cnt has the survival skills of a cockroach

the other thing we should also keep telling ourselves is this isn't a party change - ultimately all we're talking about here is replacing one Tory with another. and the only reason they ever do that is to cement their grip on power

Yep, a different Tory at the top isn't going to make the country a better place. I hope Boris clings on as close to the next election as possible and then sees them utterly slaughtered.

Johnson is a greasy unflushable turd that will not go down the pan no matter how much evidence/paper you throw over him. Just keeps bobbing back up, the merry brown dolphin.

I saw that one tory party member described Boris as "the turd you can't flush away no matter how many times you try". Very apt.

His day gets worse. All three of his main supporters for the leadership contest have all gone.

I may have this wrong but I think all the Tory party can actually do is vote him out of being leader - they cant force him to step down as PM so even if they change the rules and vote him out he will still need to step aside and allow his successor to ask the Queen if he can form a government
Not sure what happens if he doesnt stand aside

Also no guarantee the party will vote him out even now though I think its more likely than last time

Gove has joined in now. I bet he absolutely fkn loved twisting that knife in. As joyous as this is to watch, let's not forget what an amoral cesspit of politicians we're dealing with here. Commending these people is a bit like commending the Third Reich for finally doing a runner.
