    Agreed. We also need players with a sell on potential that we can make money on down the line, strikers always tend to sell for a higher fee too so if we can get one that Duff can turn into a 20 goal man like he somehow did with May, we could be onto a gold mine.

    I would rather sign some young prospect like Tyreece Simpson for example with a good half season at L2 and bags of potential over say a Steven Fletcher who has just gone to Dundee. Yes Fletcher has scored goals in prem etc. But he has no sell on potential and his best is miles behind him.

    He's actually 27 yrs old, will be 28 in November. 39 goals in 123 games for Stanley since July 2019. 28 goals in 51 games for Leamington before that.

    Won the fourth most aerial duels in League One last season. But of a nothing stat, and assume it was just a list of strikers, but still.

    It looks like Duff is going to be demanding balls into the box, which is a refreshing change from last season where we plodded around the 18 yard area looking for an opening. I actually think that way of thinking will get more out of Cole, maybe Iseka too? Cole is quick and instinctive, getting on the end of crosses, or following up on parry's from the keeper are more likely to be his bread and butter. Rather than trying to make something happen, with his back to goal, 40 yards out. We do need 2 strikers still though

    Even if they don't have a sell on value, theres always a chance that a striker who is 29-30, could help win us promotion. Then you've got your 'value' out of him lol.
    But admittedly, they are a gamble and it doesn't often work out like that. How old was Leroy Lita for example and what did he do for us.

    You heard it here first(my opinion)I'll bet now we don't sign Cadden cos his agents wage demands are way out of our remit.Cue some club like Ipswich Town to snap him up !.

    Have you not seen before that? about 25 goals in 160 appearances in the lower leagues. I know people like him & May but their records are really, really poor aside from the season just gone.
