What's the fascination of going for sixes all the time and getting caught. Surely keeping your wicket and looking for fours is the way to go. I just don't get it.46-4 after 8 is piss poor. Only chasing 170.
Needed more from the power play. Poor batting today after some decent bowling to keep the run rate achievable.
India won easy the other day. Today they added Kohli, Bumrah and Pant to the team. Was only again going to be one winner.
I know we were missing big players today. But anyone fit to get selected to get an international call up should be at least good for the job. Today quite clearly not.
You say that, but we bowled well 1st innings. Had them 98-5 at one point, just got a bit sloppy and let Jadeja build the score towards the end. I think we'd all have taken 166 at the start. It was poor batting and adrenaline that let us down.
Sharma as T20 captain this is what we are up against. They will only become more dominant as the IPL expands. When it went from eight to ten teams this year people thought the tournament would be watered down. Instead it gave even more Indians a chance to play in the best T20 event in the world, against the best players in the world. They could put out a 4th eleven that could be countries.
I’m no great fan of this game but it’s clear to see hitting sixes and swinging from the cheap seats is the way to go. ignore todays result, Morgan has instilled into them that you go hard from ball one and keep going. In the long run it’s the best and most profitable way of playing.
Safe to say that it’s unlikely Root and Bairstow will be released next week, given how the batting has been without them in these two games.
What happens when the other team does the same though, like India have done? End of the day, the best team wins.
