Tears for fears wrote some great songs head over heels, women in chains used to love em when I was a kid.
Used to listen to John Peel’s show in the Seventies, with the radio under the bed clothes. That man got me into so many bands it’s hard to remember ! The one that has stuck with me mainly is Joy Division. There are no words to describe their magnificence
We're currently on a road trip up the Welsh coast. We were visiting family in Somerset last weekend and stayed on longleat campervan site. "Tears for fears" were performing at longleat house Saturday night. Alison moyet and roachford were supporting.
Seamonsters is an incredible album. I saw them play it live a couple of weeks ago too. I think they're playing it a Birdwell Venue in a few weeks time, although it's while I'm on holiday. Otherwise I'd have been there again.
I saw the live version of it a few years ago (the first iteration which had a 3D hologram of Richard Burton doing the narration). Well worth seeing, although the tickets have become a bit too expensive for the later tours, for my liking.
Always remember listening to the War of the Worlds in our front room as a teenager. It fitted in with all the nuclear terror knocking around at the time in the early 80s. We didn’t have headphones so I would lay down and put a speaker either side of my head. .. that’s probably why my hearing is crap….tha wot?

Taking part in medieval clothing and armour at battle of Tewkesbury in 27 degrees in Wars of the Roses re-enactment. Wearing the murrey and blue of the house of York and sweating like mad. ...........well its all good fun and everybody to their own
Excellent album but I preferred Focus 3. Focus at Sheffield City Hall in 1973/4 is till one of the best gigs I've ever seen. After playing the usual encores, they came back on stage again but the management turned the power off to the PA etc. So Jan Akkerman picked up his acoustic guitar and Thijs Van Leer started playing the grand piano at the back of the stage. Eventually the power came back on and they played on. My mate's dad who gave us a lift wasn't happy sitting in the car for an extra hour....
