I found out Le Bistro permanently closed at the end of last month
Thats really sad news as I always found the food good in there and the staff friendly

Does anyone know what happend and why it closed - it seems a bit sudden

Never really got on with Wentworth. Always seemed to have a bit of of an air of local snobbery whenever I’ve been there for a beer. Same with Cawthorne.

Well Le Bisto was a restaurant so you wouldn't go there just for a beer, I never thought it snobby, Dont know much about the rest of Wentworth as only ever went to Le Bistro or the Garden Centre

Rockingham arms is now a chain.

Always thought it was an independent pub and George and Dragon aint all that.

Garden centre keeps the area busy and to buy a house in Wentworth is basically dead mans shoes.

I like Wentworth but wasn’t struck on Le Bistro for food in the last couple of years. To my memory, it was better when it was Brown’s and/or Cuddlys. I hope it reopens as a restaurant though

Has the ghostly hand of the Trustees of the Wentworth Fitzwilliam Estates had anything to do with this?

Enjoyed some nice meals at Le Bistro over the years but not many in the last couple. Sad to hear it’s closing, hopefully someone else takes it on.

It was a bit of a surprise the closure, but he’s ok.

Strange place Wentworth, the locals do not like visitors but 90 % of the businesses rely on tourists so they cannot have it both ways, it is how ever very picturesque & I enjoy the walks & views that surround the village & I walk up there several times a week.

I get where you're coming from, however my way of dealing with this whenever we are out in the Shires is to blank out any thought of politics and simply breathe in our green and pleasant land!
