I'd imagine he would have signed a Scholarship deal. Also, you have to develop him and hopefully, show him that Barnsley is the place for him to be. Also, Rafael Monteiro is at Barnsley and I think that's who Hassell said was Jalo's best friend.
Does a scholarship deal stop him being poached? I’m sure I read somewhere that the buying club only needs to pay a derisory amount per annum for each year the youngster has been at the academy. Who is Rafael Monteiro by the way?
I don't see any problem in you saying you're impressed by a particular player. Obviously you don't want to compare one player to another or be critical of anyone (not that you would), but I think we're all allowed to say positive things about personnel at our places of work.
