"The Eric Winstanley Ponty End, Sponsored by C.K. Beckett". A bit of a mouthful, but it'll do for me.

I hope someone can get Normans family to agree to it cos there is only one Norman Rimmington stand. What a man and what a servant to the club.

Norman Rimmington Stand, for me his service alone deserves a medal the size of a dustbin lid, R I P

It's not the South Stand just like it isn't Grove Street. It's always been the Ponty End and should remain as such. The Winstanley End has a decent ring to it if they want to give it an official name.

It would be Rimmo for me. Although I do think it should be the West stand named after him rather than the Ponty.

I always wanted it to be named after Derek Bell, one of my first favourites.

I hate it when folk quote a post and say 'this'.

Another great idea by the club. I've voted for Rimmo but as others have said it's a tough choice.
All the close season activity needs to be praised in terms of reconnecting with fans.
Well done to Khaled and all of his team.

Voted for Winstanley. Close call between him & Rimmo, but I think both on his playing & coaching record he just edges it for me. Would be more than happy if Rimmo gets it though.

Didn’t Man Utd fans once hijack a similar vote at the old Maine Road? They all opted for Colin Bell.

I’d name suites after King Ronnie (my reds hero) and Redders, but if Rimmo or his family didn’t want it then it must be Eric next. Tommy Taylor became a legend at Man Utd, was he seen as a legend here at the time (genuine question, I’ve no idea). Eric served us over longer as player etc and was a big part of promotion to prem. Got to be Eric.

If it was named on pure pleasure I’d go with Glavin, when I think of the Ponte as it’s an ‘end’ with goals I tend to picture him driving towards it.
Big Eric deserves a stand naming after him , but I’d be against naming it after Rimmo as it seems he didn’t want it and if that’s so I don’t agree with trying to go against the wishes of somebody who has passed.

Would the club not know that too?

I wanted Peter Handyside to be recognised but, from the options, Big Eric should take it.
