How good any of those names are against men has absolutely zero relevance to whether they are world class or not. They just are.

No debate. A dog can't f cuk a cat. Why would it want to if it can lick it's b oll ocks all day.

The women's game will never be as big as the men's.

However, it gives hope to young aspiring footballers because they can relate more with the women's game because it hasn't been spoilt by money yet.

Pitting women v men serves no purpose. What are you achieving?

    It's a lose, lose.

If it's a different sport then they should stop comparing their pay with the men.

    https://www.tennisnow.com/Blogs/NET...n-Who-Beat-Venus-and-Serena-Back-to-Back.aspx

Venus and Serena were comfortably beaten by the world 203.

Putting Katie Taylor up against a professional man would seem to be downright dangerous, although I'm pretty sure she'd pulverise the average man on the street!

Question. Do you genuinely believe that Supertyke actually thinks Barnsley men's team would be improved by a women's international striker or do you think he was just making a point to illustrate how refreshing it would be for us to have a couple of composed, hard working male strikers?

I enjoy watching football at any level or gender because l expect and accept their obvious differences in area’s of skill, tactics and ability. However I do have a problem though with the ladies game and that is the high pitched noise level of excitable commentary!

Mate he’s doing the usual ST of trotting around on his high horse trying to provoke a reaction… he’ll be sat on his computer having a real chortle about his accusation that you are in to teenage boys.

The women’s game has come on tremendously. I went to the states around 20 years ago and was overawed by their infrastructure for the womens and youth game. We are lucky that most of the boys drop “soccer” for their “real” sports. The girls however don’t and are arguably the best in the world.

The womens game in the uk has also exploded with many youngsters playing to a decent level. Skill wise they are drilled the same as the boys and will over the coming years level out as much as the physical strength differences will allow. I’m sure at some point we’ll see a nippy woman striker or winger in the mens game.

Agreed. They've been incredible to watch.

In other news, I watched some Women's Gymnastics the other day on TV. Goodness, the flexibility and skill levels were incredible. Imagine a man lumbering round trying to do what some of those women can do - specifically on the mat or the parallel bars. I'd like the U16s Women National Side to take on the Men's Side at Rythmic Gymnastics. It would be no contest. The skill levels and mobility of the women would put the men to shame.

To be fair the Venus and Serena v top men question pops up regularly.

Obviously the idea of putting a female boxer up against men is pretty daft. Although as I mentioned above, Katie Taylor would absolute paste me in a fight!

You want to see a monetised experiment, solely for the purpose of highlighting how much better men are than women at football? Do you genuinely not see an issue in your thinking here?

As good as they are, he would also have to arrange for them to have extra time on the ball to be able to show off their talent because compared to the men's game ,the majority of time they have loads of time and space on the ball

He thought Julie Ann Quay was genuinely looking to personally recruit a striker for Barnsley, or at least be part of the recruitment team, after her Tweet. I think it's fair to say the subtleties in the use of language are not something he easily grasps. That's not an unnecessary dig at him, it's a clear and often repeated trait.

Yeah, I’d like to see a team of Premier League All stars all with a minimum of 30 international caps each, play Vs Athersley Rec.
Anyone who scores gets a Rolex watch, and a holiday in the Bahamas. Let’s see what happens. It would be hilarious.

It is. I've got some opinions on whether being on here does him any good but it's not my place to argue them. He's inevitably going to wind people up I'm afraid, sometimes unintentionally. I try to not comment but don't succeed as often as I should. Blocking him would just lead to some threads then becoming unintelligible. I guess I'll have to try harder to ignore him.

They'd get spanked. As would be the case in most sports with elite men vs elite women. That's not disrespectful - men have many biological advantages. It's besides the point. What is disrespectful (and outright stupid) is to question, as Hemmsy did, whether or not there are any world class female athletes. Mens and womens sports should be watched and enjoyed in their own right without the constant need to compare them. It's totally irrelevant to do so.

Hemmsy, tune into the World Athletics Championships this evening and watch the womens 10000m final. Take a look at Sifan Hassan, Letesenbet Gidey and Hellen Obiri battling it out and tell me they are not world class athletes.

Thought the same at the time. But couldn't be arsed to respond. The fact is. The written word is very often taken in the wrong context in ST's world.
Bizzare thread and posts. Can't believe some of the to-ing and fro-ing.

I mentioned it would have to be that way because footballers are footballers. They would feel sorry for the other team. Manchester City do this in normal premier league games anyway for several different reasons. Ben Foster, Sourse. says they've done it against them. Come out in the second half and just kept the ball in 3rd gear without the real intention to maximise goals.

Whatever he thinks about me or anyone on here doesn't make a difference. It doesn't make a difference what I think of him you or X that works at the club. It's just an opinion.

but what possible outcome would you expect? the men's team would win. they would win even more money, the women's team would be humiliated. nothing would be gained. it wouldn't do any good whatsoever. in fact it would probably do more harm than good. surely you see that?
