I think she's very low on substance. I'd be far more worried if it was Sunak, simply because I think he'd at least appear to be reasonably competent, plus he's got some credit in the bank with the public for his handling of Covid.

Putting Truss in charge would be like sending Stephen Hawking out to bat at Lord's in the Ashes.

Good concept, though personally I'd go for the Crystal Maze. Liz Truss gets locked in a room in the Aztec Zone after failing to find the crystal that's in front of her face, then falling into the water. Nobody goes back to rescue her.

Experts have said from day one if Mordaunt gets to last 2 she will win the members vote as she is the furthest right of all the candidates.

I'd have settled for Squid Game myself. Only they'd have all been shot by the Red Light/Green Light robot...

On second thoughts, I'd prefer Squid Game...

Its known that the Conservative party membership has been infiltrated by "Britain First", and they'll vote for the candidate with the most right wing views. I do wonder how much your traditional Tory voter actually realises that the party is becoming borderline fascist and indeed whether they care?

I was having a drink with a friend last night who is generally a centralist Tory who has voted Lib Dem from time to time. He's pretty disturbed by the whole situation. We were both of the opinion that Ken Clarke, John Major, Michael Heseltine etc were actually a pretty decent bunch. I didn't agree with a lot of their policies, but they were genuine political opponents who clearly acted with integrity and thought they were doing the best for the country.

You're probably right. Best ask Michael Gove to be sure. He definitely knows a bit about subtances.

So Johnson though he hasnt the support of the party has the power to strip MP's with some integrity doing their jobs for not cancelling their trips to support him in his unnecessary vote of confidence we really are ****** arent we
Guessing Ellwood would be voting for the wrong candidate in the leadership elections

Fort Boyard. Liz Truss gets eaten by tigers scrambling for the last few coins.

Mate, I don't want a big show, what I want is a leader to show some honesty and passion in the policies they are promoting, unfortunatly starmer has no policies or passion and truss is just a right wing puppet. Had enough of hubristic idiots in johnson and his motley crew. Honesty and passion is in short supply on both front bench's, such a sad situation.

im not sure about that , Lurpak looks uncomfortable every time party gate is mentioned and he won’t answer questions on his wife’s business activity in Britain with a number going bankrupt owing the HMRC hundreds of thousands, another benefitting hundreds of thousands of pounds in furlough payments
