Yeah it pees me off thinking how badly that lot were doing things. And one appalling decision after another has put us in this awful position now, where we can't (and don't seem to) refuse offers for our players. As for Morris, you can't forget his goals and all round effort, but you also can't ignore his injury record either. He isn't capable of playing 40 games a season, and we need more reliability than that.
I know everyone is harping on about Morris is leaving but is he. Been looking on various sites regarding Luton and it's gone very quiet. All the talk is about a Canadian forward signing from a Spanish team today. Sorry if I've missed anything.
Luton Town FC @LutonTown We are excited to announce the signing of striker Carlton Morris from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee!
Undisclosed fee, no surprise there but if it was for £2M as it’s been stated to be by various journalists surely Luton would say it’s their new record signing; as they have not then I doubt we’ve got anything like that for him. Brilliant. What I know for a fact though is that the season starts in 3 weeks and we have 2 senior strikers at the club who only scored a combined 5 goals between them last season. Unless we’re about to bring in a couple of decent strikers or Cole and Leya Iseka turn into superstars, I’m a bit worried about where our goals are going to be coming from this season.
I’m not for one second saying I know it happened, but it can be part of a deal that the selling club (or buying club) insist on a transfer value being undisclosed. It would be counter productive to Barnsley FC, already one of the “bigger” clubs in League One, to have it known that we have just received a large fee for a player. If clubs think we are skint they are less likely to hold out for more money from us when we are buying.
Do you think Duff was told, during the interview process, that the club's two main strikers would be gone within a couple of weeks?
No fees been quoted in the media but local journos usually have a good idea if it had broke lutons 1.2 million pound transfer record we would have heard about it... pathetic if has gone for less than that.
https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/...egrate-with-following-barnsley-switch-3774794 Seems to be another dig at the club from Morris. Easier to integrate in to than joining a club that was challenging for promotion to the Premier League?
Yeh imagine.. 'Morris labels Luton's 'arrogant' dressing room as the 'hardest' he's ever had to integrate with following Barnsley switch'
He doesn't have to say that either. He could say Luton has a good dressing room with a great set of lads. It's really easy to praise Luton without it looking like a dig to us.
