The fees for Woodrow and Morris were somewhat acceptable. I get lowering the fee for Woodrow due to higher wages. I think we slightly undersold Morris given his importance to us, but you can argue it's a fair fee (if it is the reported 2 million) given his injury issues.

But we simply cannot entertain anything less than 3 million each for Styles and Helik. Simple as that. No other EFL side would sell a former championship team of the season defender who is an international for a top 30 ranked team for so little. Beyond a joke.

I might be kicking off for no reason as we don't yet know the fee and he's not gone yet, but if it is Poznan he does go to which seems likely, it's not going to be near 3 million given their transfer record is 1.2 million euros.....

If it's a choice of accept 1.5 million and survive or hold out for 3 million, not get it and go bust what would you do?

I accept we aren't in a good financial position but I won't accept that if we don't accept 1.2 million euros today that we will be bust by next week, that is simply not true.

If they want him they pay a proper fee, if not someone else will. Window is open for a while longer yet, we dont need to panic sell now we still have time in this window to sell him.

And I personally think the Club will say they’re doing exactly that, i.e. only accepting a figure that meets their valuation. Problem is that figure very often differs from fans’ valuation.

I also don’t believe we’d instantly go bust if we held on to any one player. But we know we’ve got to shift these players. The money isn’t coming from anywhere else.

There’s also the player in the middle of all this. I imagine Helik will have made it clear that L1 football is no good to him, and for me we don’t need top earners in the squad who don’t want to be here.

I was refering to us as a team in general gerrin Shafted, we always seem to sell cheaply, thats all, i would love to get market value for Helik, hes been a stalwart for us, lets hope its 3m but r reckon it'll be nearer 1m

Duff said players are not in control of them leaving the team, they will leave when the right money comes in. I appreciate people may think I am over pricing Helik here but whoever within the club that thinks under 1.5 million is the correct fee should be instantly removed from their post as they are clearly not fit for purpose.

We need to shift him on for the benefit of his career and for us long term, but we also need to ensure we are getting a fee that is a fair reflection of his ability and importance to us.

His price is based on what clubs are prepared to pay not on what the board or us fans want. I hope and believe it should be nearer 3m but not looking that way right now.

The player clearly will push a move for his own reasons. So if we don't sell now we risk having a financial gap and a player plus salary who isnt contributing to our squad.

Having said all that, talks wouldnt be happening unless the club have given permission i would presume.

Full international for a proper team. Anything less than £6 million would be pretty crap in this day and age.

Look.. we all know he will go.
We all know the fee will be undisclosed... I just hope that we retain an interest in his future!
He was part of the team that got us relegated, he has a relegation on his CV. We aren't in a position to demand more than anyone will pay. If we were still in the championship then YES £3m. He's currently in league 1... If we get £1m + then that's what we get..

Tbf he’s worth whatever the maximum is that clubs are prepared to pay. Anything else is purely opinion.

Our issue is clubs know we will accept small fees and we are pushovers

The board can choose to not entertain bids if they don't meet a valuation. Other clubs do it regularly, Hull are literally doing it now with Wednesday for Wilks. Owls bid 200k and Hull have said numerous times it's nowhere near their valuation so he's going nowhere until they up the bid. Fair enough they aren't in the financial mess we are but we can still demand more.

As for the second point, none of us know Helik personally, but he seems to be a true professional that gives his all for the team, never seems to hide away like some did last season. If we didn't have a bid that met our valuation for example. I am sure he would still play to the best of his ability even if he didn't want to be in L1.

Not for League 1 mate. Only 5 L1 players have sold for >£6m

I get that, but if a club will only offer 1.2 million for example then we shouldn't be forced to accept that just cos it's the highest bid.

I wouldn't get a brand new BMW M3 for 10 grand just cos it was my highest offer. They wouldn't accept it cos it's not the value they set on that product. We should do the same. If Poznan will only offer 1.2 million (hypothetically) and we want nearer 3 (again hypothetically) then we tell them to shove it, not just accept it cos it's the highest bid we've had.

Might be controversial, but I'd take a bit less of a current transfer fee, for a higher sell on clause as we stand. After him, and Styles, leave, I think we'll be around where about we need to be. I genuinely believe if he plays in a 3 and next to someone with a bit of pace, a 'bigger' club might take a punt on him, especially if he keeps his place in the national side. I think personally he'd do really well in the Italian league, or the French. I really reckon we could make a bob or two off his next transfer if we play our cards right

Unfortunately we can’t be arrogant & expect silly fees for these players, players who were part of one of our worst ever seasons in our clubs history. Yes things happened off the pitch which no doubt impacted negatively, but these players are professionals & absolutely share some of the blame for what was a disaster of a season. We dropped down a league & unfortunately that means the players value drops. Like it or not relegation means we lose out on a hell of a lot of money & unfortunately this means we have to be prudent & sell players to claw some if not all that lost money back, for the future of the club. That’s the reality.
Now I rate Helik as a £5million defender, but we have to be realistic & look at the circumstances the club is under, & accept that £1.5million is good money on top of the money we have already received for players sold.

If we get promoted then it’s a whole different ball game.

I do get where you’re coming from, definitely. But they’re probably looking at it thinking “it’s another 1.5m off the finance gap, including salary. If we say no, where else is that 1.5m coming from?”

It’s a $hit situation, no doubt about it. But it is the situation we’re in.

I'd buy into that for Styles given his age and potential but Helik is 26/27 so not as likely to get a big move again in the future. Styles however could easily go somewhere for over 10 million in a few seasons if he continues to develop

I know the situation is rubbish but I just can't accept that way of thinking. If people think I'm daft or wrong whatever then so be it but I personally wouldn't entertain anything below 3 million.

I am not in the board room though so my opinion sadly means nothing and he will be gone for a 'undisclosed' fee that will be no where near what we fans value you him at.
