Now that I've got your attention, I wanted to relate a true story about a hilarious evening at a restaurant near Hamburg in Germany last Monday. I was with friends and we were sitting outside as it was very hot, although not as hot as over here. Next to the restaurant was a ladies clothes shop with display windows. This was the view from my seat:- As I was eating, I found this view rather distracting. I then noticed that the lady in the shop popped out now and again for a smoke, leaving the shop empty. I spotted an opportunity and asked the waiter, whom I know, for some double sided sticky tape. I also plucked a big leaf from a plant which was growing up a pillar next to our table. The next time the shop lady went for a smoke, I sneaked in, positioned the leaf, and sneaked out again without being spotted. This was the result:- Bedlam ensued, and guests from other tables were falling about laughing, as well as my friends. The shop lady eventually realised that about a dozen people were pointing at her shop window and laughing their heads off, and she came out to see what it was all about. She then had a laughing fit herself, then composed herself and ran back inside. She hurriedly put on dress on the dummy, and sanity was restored: - It was a fine evening, with loads of beer involved. And some people say the Germans have no sense of humour!
Good effort. We're in Switzerland driving into Germany to meet our friends of 5 years. When all the family hear the English are coming they all come round . So looking forward to the German hospitality and beers
