    Paul Conway and Chien Lee are trying to buy the WWE after the announcement that Vince McMahon is retiring. However they have strong opposition from Laurence Bassini.

    The new sponsor is Guinness, because good things come to those who wait, or sumat.

    You missed the imminent announcement of Colchester Stub benefits. Apparently holders of said stub are going to be allowed to keep the lid off pop bottles served at Oakwell.

    Annoyed me at the time. As I recall he didn't really do much scored a few but all in all don't think much would have changed for us if he had come back.

    He might have become one of the club legends though. There was certainly plenty of love for him during that year in a red shirt. If only he had stayed - him and Hignett, plus Bruce of course, would have fired us back to the Prem.

    Was gutted when he left the first time though I get the feeling the club were happy to see the deal go through given the fee involved.

    Wasn't it said though that he/Ward wanted silly wages, and for various reasons it stalled and fell through.
    And with our upcoming problems that put us in admin, maybe its a good thing we din't bring him back in '02.
